Willie Idlette Jr., 23, a former coach and teacher at Baylor School, in Chattanooga, Tennessee has been indicted and arrested on seven counts of statutory rape involving a 17-year-old Baylor School student.
Idlette turned himself in to authorities upon learning about the charges against him and was initially held in custody at Hamilton County Jail. He was subsequently released on $25,000 bond.
Idlette is scheduled to appear in court on February 22nd.
Idlette was fired from his position with the school in November.
10/07/08 - Idlette Files Reply To Civil Suit
Willie Idlette Jr. has filed a reply to a civil suit filed by the alleged victim in the criminal case.
Idlette’s response to the suit filed Friday denies the conduct and demands “strict proof.”

I personally know this teacher. He has been a great friend for years. In my opinion this is a race issue. The girl knew what she was doing, and from what I have been told there was no physical activity between them just inappropriate talk. I believe that if the parents hadn’t ever found out nothing would have happened. Most rich WHITE families aren’t gonna agree with any kinda relationship with a black male no matter what. Sometimes parents just need to open their eyes and realize their little princess isn’t so innocent. I know the age of consent in TN is 18, but I have to wonder if this had been a white teacher would the family and authorities be pushing this. Mr. Idlette has worked hard to get where he is. He was a mentor to many of the Baylor football players and students.

I like the term they used, “Strict Proof.” That’s how all cases should be and teachers shouldn’t be arrested or fired with out a confession or proof. He’s innocent until proven guilty. If in fact they did have sex seven times, is it really rape if she kept going back for more? Who raped who if she went to him? She may be 17 years old, but come on, she says she went back seven times, and now she wants to be paid for having sex with him. Isn’t that called prostitution when you get paid for sexual services? Who’s raping who now?
