In response to Collin’s comment… yeah he was a fun teacher, but he was also a weirdo. Maybe you didn’t notice it because you were a boy, or just didn’t understand the jokes he made. But the accusations aren’t false. Why would three “exploitation” charges be added after the computers were seized? He took erotic pictures of children and kept them on his computer. He had childrens’ underwear in his house. You shouldn’t let your old hero-worship cloud your judgement… after all, relating to children is what pedophiles do best.

I had him as a 6th grade teacher 6 years ago. I remember all the science experiments he would do especially the atomic fire ball (one of the coolest things ever), I remember when he would dress up as “Bubba” and try to scare the visiting 5th graders LOL! I remember how he would always say “now one day I was wondering, CUZ THATS WHAT A SCIENTIST DOES BEST!” I remeber playing Krypto with the 5 dice and the top 5 people who figured it out first won Tootsie Rolls, I remember playing hang-man to study for science tests and how Mr. Tillman would make his drawings really detailed NOT in a nasty perverted way just detailed like hairy feet, long claws, crazy eyes, etc. I remember him telling us about how he ate 34 pizza slices at CiCi’s and how a cop stopped him in the parking lot thinking he was drunk lol that was a funny story, I remember him telling us about his Harley Davidson motorcycle and how he rode it everywhere, I remember him telling us how he regretted marrying his first wife and how he wished he had never made that mistake, I remember him saying how he and his highschool girlfriend agreed to stay together after high school and she left him during college, I remember when we got a new student we asked him what she looked like and he said she looks a lot like “so and so” and the only thing they had in common was that they were both very well developed. But that’s the only really bad thing I remember about him. What I’m trying to say is I believe those charges are true, but Mr. Tillman was one of the best teachers I’ve ever had, definetly the best science teacher. He made the class fun and entertaining. The last time I saw him was in 8th grade, my friend and I stayed after school for newspaper and as we were leaving we bumped into him. We said hey cuz we had both had him 6th grade year, and he ofcourse said hey. I told him he probably wouldn’t remember me (because he had told us in 6th grade he never remembers any of his students) and surprisingly he did. He called out my name on the spot. I’m dissapointed that someone as great a teacher as Mr. Tillman would sink to this level, but I’ve read that it’s usually highly respected people in society that commit crimes of rape and molestation. Very sad thought

I’m a girl and was in his sixth grade class. Like Reece said, everyone always knew he was creepy. He never bothered me much (just a few creepy comments) but paid very close attention to two of my friends who had pretty bad home lives. It’s like he saw that and exploited their needs for attention and praise. The thing is, this went on for years. My older brothers said the same thing, as did the kids younger than me. I remember very specifically he had wallpaper on his school computer of Britney Spears (when she was like 16 in the school girl get up), and an air matress in his closet. His sexual comments were continuous. A favorite story of his to tell is that once he had a student who wrote a science report and misspelled Organism… I’ll let you figure out the rest. Everyone I’ve talked to about this has said “No big surprise”. Valley Springs definitely should have known something was up.

Schools need to be held responsible when they choose to ignore warnings,follow up on it Reece and put their feet to the fire!
