It’s good that WS likes giving BJs, because where he’s going he’ll be in BJ heaven, and for a VERY long time! His life is officially over. That’s what happens when you mess with a minor. He’s only 22 years old, too! The boy probably got as much fun out of it as he did, but when the boy’s ready to retire, WS may very likely be in prison, or dead.

GO Nincompoop!!! I like your style! You seem to take both sides of the story into consideration! As for cannotbenamed, my sincerest regards and I do believe that now that the sentencing is over, I would like to wish my best regards to you and your family and I would also like to say I hope you can find it in your heart someday to befriend Mr. Stevens once again! So this is my final note, the whole thing is done and over with, and although the scars remain fresh on both sides, I hope this is viewed as a lesson learned and people will all heal from this on both sides! So best wishes to BOTH families! :D

Nincompoop – I’m with you up until you say “So, this is not like it was someone taking advantage of an uneducated, completely naive elementary student. ”

You make that statement based on your own development at age 15. The average age at which males in the United States lose their virginity is 16.4 years. So generally speaking an average 15 year old does not posses the “prowess” you describe. We do not know where this kid falls on the curve. Further, it is accepted that children at that age do not posses the maturity and experience to make responsible decisions regarding sex. This is why we have laws to protect them. Speculating on this child’s experience and sexual prowess borders on irresponsible and is ultimately irrelevant by any standard.

One other item I wanted to note here.

I am not in any way trying to make a case for this not being a crime. However, young males typically are pretty astute in their sexual prowess at 15-16 years of age. Quite frankly, my first sexual experiences occurred at the ripe old age of 12. By the time I was 15 I knew more about sex than many people twice my age. And that was the norm for boys at my age at the time.

So, this is not like it was someone taking advantage of an uneducated, completely naive elementary student. So I don’t quite see this case the same as your typical pedophilia cases of 40-50 year old men fondling and molesting 7 and 8 year olds..or younger.

But, what is important about this case is that age was not an issue with the accused. And being such, had he not been caught, it is probable that he would have repeated this offense with another and maybe this time it could have been a very young victim who did not know what was taking place.

So, I say again…glad that the accused was caught and will face retribution for his crime which will hopefully lead to a successful rehabilitation and noone else down the road somewhere being hurt.

    cannotbenamed-

It’s surprising that you use the name ‘cannotbenamed’ to post on this site as it is pretty clear who you are by some of the statements you’ve made.

#1. Probably not advisable to post about an ongoing case which you may be a party to.

#2. I agree with much of what you have said. And I feel badly for you and your family. These types of situations are very difficult to overcome for adolescents.

I think that it does no one any good in this situation to try to paint a picture of the accused as either a saint or a sexual predator. I believe the truth is somewhere in the middle. Which, by the way is where most of mankind is classified. No one is beyond sin no matter how close to their Gods they feel that they are.

Unfortunately, there is a place in the human brain that controls sexuality and how someone acts on their sexual desires, fantasies, etc. It is self control and conscientiousness that allows people to act or not act. If you ever stole something or lied about something, or hurt someone who maybe wasn’t able to defend themselves…how did you feel before committing those acts? And, by the way…I’m not trying to compare these acts to sexual abuse. What I’m trying to say is that you likely had that moment…(think of the angel and devil on the shoulder scenario)… where you wondered…”what happens if I get caught, or even should I or shouldn’t I”…

In that respect the crime being discussed is very much the same. Another respect that these crimes are the same is that once the crime is committed, the probability of repeating the offense is very high. It takes people reaalizing how offensive their behavior was and for it to eat away at them and make them swim in the fears of what might have happened to them.

So, to wrap this up…yes Will was very much wrong in doing what he did. He was the adult and if he didn’t he surely should have known the law as it relates to these types of crimes. Also, I can only hope that whatever punishment has been or will be rendered by the courts will rehabilitate him so that this type of thing never happens again.

For your familiy member, I hope that he is able to process the circumstances that led to the events that occurred. I hope that he can determine in his own mind what types of sexual relationships are appropriate and that it isn’t all about self gratification. Hopefully he will be able to educate others on how this type of situation can be overcome and how a person can avoid the potential traps that can befall the young and naive.

    My sincerest regards…

Close Friend- Hate to break it to you but I was a close friend of Williams for over 11 years. I have known him since he was 13 and the reason I know the things I know about him is because up until he assaulted my family member we were friends. It is not my place to find judgment- he already admitted he was guilty. And if you really want to bring in what God thinks how do you think He feels about a person using his name as a vehicle to get to his victims. It is amazing how you can sit and defend a guilty man and judge a child. Good for you for never having been placed in a situation where some one was manipulating and using you. Hopefully someone who you admire and respect never tries to take advantage of you- I would hate for you to have to look at the other side of the fence. And FYI- the reason all of this never went to trail is because the victims family was doing it’s best to protect Steven’s and his family. Maybe you should read your own advice and open your eyes. You know nothing. You only know what you have been told.

Closefriend – yes, everyone has lapses in judgment BUT when those lapses in judgment involve molesting a child, it’s a very different story. You can rant and rave all you want about how “good” Will is but at the end of the day he hurt a child that he should have been protecting. That is a serious and grave crime that trumps any and all of your personal feelings about him.

Sorry if this seems “condescending” but sexual abuse of children is typically something good and decent people look down upon. That is not a bad thing.

First of all, I would like to say that the person in question, Will, is not a predator and I don’t like to think of these forty year old condescending a-holes talking about him in this way. If the boy is so “innocent” then why’d he agree to go with Will in the first place? Did ya think that far ahead? Probably not because you’re too caught up in how you think you see the situation. Everyone has lapses in judgement and I’m not trying to say the boy probably hasn’t been through things as well, but you might want to think about the “predator” or whatever you referred to him as, before you start running your mouth!!! Second of all, I’d just like to say that that person talking about NAMBLA, yes that’s what it’s properly called, is ridiculous! Get your facts straight before you start pointing things out! The person who obviously went to school with him didn’t EVER take time to get to know the true GOOD person that Will is! I appreciate your little jokes to Mr. Bill who probably doesn’t even leave the house! To cannotbenamed how about we throw your past on the table and slam you?! Sorry if this is offensive, but you obviously needed a wake-up call and to be put in your rightful little places! Oh and lastly, we’ll see what God thinks of you guys for sitting on your little computers writing made up stuff and judging someone you don’t know!!!! :D

    cannotbenamed Says:

I would like to say to Brock H. – you are absolutely correct in your opinion. It was my family member who was hurt by William and there isn’t a day that doesn’t go by that I think to my self that I should have something long ago. In fact there has not been one person who knows who the victim is that hasn’t said to me that they don’t feel responsible in some way. Williams gleaming past and good deeds is nothing but a vehicle he uses to track and prey on his victims. The thing about that is- his victims are not always under age. I am appalled at the amount of people who have stopped and said- I should have done something prior to this. Meaning this sexual deviance has been apparent for years and years. Williams defense is that he is naive and unaware of his actions. Then why is that by speaking with various people all through his life we can track the progression of his behavior. My family lives in fear that someone will find out who the victim is and that more shame and humiliation will come to my family member. What William did in the past for good deeds does not erase the terrible actions he took against an innocent boy. I am disgusted by some of these responses and frankly understand more now why it has taken me almost a year to look up any internet activity on this case. Anyone who can judge a victim in a sexual crime is in my opinion is an ignorant fool. The victim was tracked by Steven’s for over 10 years and has unwavering trust and admiration placed upon him by not only the boy but the entire family. His good deeds are nothing but camouflage for his sicking underside. In all realty William Steven’s is sexual predator who manipulates the world around him and using his christian faith has a cushy fall back when his disturbing behaviors are not longer able to be hidden. To say that William has admitted guilt would be factual- to say his feels his guilt is questionable. As a family member of the victim and a former friend of Williams I can say with all conviction that William Steven’s is a predator and a pedophile. He will do this again and to reform him would mean he would first have to admit his guilt to himself. And again as far as the christian route is concerned- Is it not easiest for evil to work swiftly and unnoticed when it is able to hide behind the illusion of good.
