William Shane Vanhoy

William Shane Vanhoy, 32, an assistant to the soccer coaching staff at Forbush Middle School in East Bend, North Carolina has reportedly been arrested on allegations that he solicited a child by computer to commit an unlawful sex act.

It is alleged that Vanhoy solicited a Alamance County Sheriff’s deputy who was posing as a 13-year-old girl in an Internet chat room.

Reportedly, the investigation began in March as part of an ongoing computer crimes initiative and the alleged solicitation in the case occurred in August.

Following his arrest, Vanhoy was reportedly being held in the Alamance County jail on a $5,000 secured bond.

A school district spokesperson has indicated that Vanhoy is no longer employed by the school system.

Vanhoy is also listed as the vice president of the Yadkin Soccer Association, which according to its Web site, is a soccer league for youth in Yadkin and surrounding counties.
