Bill Beeson will be vindicated. This is the result of any out-of-control school board, and an overzealous prosecutor. If you view the charges, Santa Claus would be in prison for hearing childrens’ Christmas wishes while sitting on his lap.

  3. Cynthia:

You better hope you’re right. Because if you’re wrong, you’ve made a damn fool out of yourself in public and will forever be known as the lady from Storey County who defended a pedophile. Why risk it? Why not just wait for the trial, evaluate the evidence, and let the jury decide?

None of us should be making public accusations of guilt until the evidence is in. That’s the best example we can set for our children.

  4. The Rev. Beeson also worked at the Episcopal Church’s Camp Galilee for many years. There he was a colleague of the husband of the American Episcopal Church’s leader, Bishop Jefferts Schori. The prosecutor should start getting the records from the Camp ASAP.

  5. I was student of mr. bills. I had Bill as a teacher for years, and i never saw him do anything of this nature. On the contrary, Bill was a great teacher, and brought many good things to an otherwise dreary school. I hope that the truth is found, and that Bill is be vindicated. To Sudamen: People that know Bill well will risk defending him. Who are you again??

  6. I worked with Bill Beeson. He seemed when I worked with him to be nothing but the nicest man.

    To Sudamen -
Burden of proof in this country goes that the government has to prove someone guilty before they are. As far as you telling Cynthia that she “better hope she’s right,” you are totally ignoring the system of law this country is built on. Right now, she’s standing by a friend who’s been ACUSED of something, not CONVICTED. If she jumped ship on him now she’d be a disloyal friend and a terrible person. I to am choosing to stick by Bill, and may continue to do so even if he is convicted based on the total LACK OF EVIDENCE on the part of the prosecution. It seems like all they have is video evidence of some kid messing around with him!? That is it. As far as the other people to step up and accuse him, Mr. Beeson is a gay man and Virginia City is a sad, small hick town, with many ignorant people proportionate to the population in whole. There are lots of nice, reasonable, unbiggoted folks up there, but the ratio of homophobes to tolerant people is remarkable. My point, there are intollerant hick biggot students up there that I’ve heard talking about how much they wanted that “fag teacher” to lose his job even before these charges poped up. Now, I make room for the possibility that he did it, if he did and it is clear that he did, I wash my hands of him, but based on what little evidence there is now and the fact that he’s not been convicted of anything yet, he still has in me a fervent supporter. Does that make me a bad person, should I be embarrased by that?

  7. I too, was a student of Mr. Bill’s all through school. He was truly one of the most dedicated, hard working, teachers we had the pleasure of learning from. He is proud of our community and has accomplished so much over the years. I also stand by Cynthia and anyone else who wishes to support Bill Beeson.
    To this Sudamen person…..
First of all, I agree with David, who are you again???
Second, while it has been a few years since I attended high school at good ol’ VCHS, when I was there teacher/student “misconduct” ran rampant through the halls on a daily basis. I can speak from experience (sad, but true) that in some cases, the students are just as guilty and manipulative as the adults. Of all those to be wary of when I was growing up, Bill Beeson was not one of them. If anything he was the one person you could go to if you really needed help, and he would do whatever he could to help you. I didn’t even really like him all that much! This, however, is bull, and someone has to stand up and say so!
Bill Beeson you are in my prayers……

  8. I can honestly say that I knew it was just a matter of time before something like this happened to Beeson. Whether or not Beeson’s actions are assault or just his playful personality I have no idea. I was a student of Beeson’s for several semesters in High School. In drama he was always a little odd, but in English I have to admit that I enjoyed his classes immensely. I got more out of his High School English classes then I did out of most of my college English classes - go figure.

I hope everything ends the way it should and I’m not quite sure what that is.

I am at no point standing up for him. I also watched him do all of the “questionable” stuff, to my ex in 1996-1998; however, it doesn’t mean that I’m ready to damn him for eternity either. With that said I also watched SEVERAL teacher’s in VCHS in the ’90’s have VERY VERY inappropriate relationships with other students. If you think that Beeson is the only one you are SORELY mistaken. I truly believe that if it wasn’t for his sexual orientation, that he would not have been called on any of his behavior, in appropriate or not. All of his supposed indiscretions would have been swept underneath the rug like the other teachers of that time.

I don’t know the story with this individual person and, I don’t know if Beeson really did those things with this person. Do I think he’s acted in appropriately with other students, yes. Does that constitute assualt?? I don’t know and that doesn’t really matter. What matter’s is the truth in this specific case.

Remember we’re only hearing a small part of the entire story.

Like I said I AM NOT STANDING UP FOR HIM! I am advocating the truth is all.

  9. maybe you should stand up for him.how do you know, you are advocating the truth? unless you seen the court documents-what i doubt.and sometimes they are just a bunch of lies.prosecuters go haywire sometimes-they want 2 feel important.and winn the case.enough said.

  10. I’m sorry easteregg, but I have a hard time understanding what you’re saying.

Why don’t I stick up for him? Why would I stick up for someone that I’m not sure is innocent. Leave it to the judge and jury to decide that.

I didn’t stick up for him in High School, I sure as shoot won’t stick up for him now. Are you kidding me?!?!? I wouldn’t let my children be in his class.

It seems as though you are nothing more than a radical supporter whom no matter what the truth or the facts are will support him until the end of time. That’s fantastic, I’m sure Beeson needs supporters like that. I however am not one of them and will never be one of them.

I am definitely not a supporter of Beeson or most of the teachers of my time at VCHS, with that said I do not want to see an innocent man go to jail or be branded as a child molestor.

Either way I just hope the truth comes out.

  11. yes i am a radical supporter…………innocent till proven guilty,is my motto.you guys sound like a bunch of biggoted country hicks.so the guy is gay? who cares.

  12. I had Bill as a teacher in 97, i know 2 boys in my class he slept with. He usually does it when they take the drama class to Eurika or at parties he throws after the theater shows the high school does.
