William Allen Beeson, 58, a former English and theater arts teacher at Virginia City High School, in Virginia City, Nevada has been arrested on suspicion of felony sexual assault of a child under the age of 16, suspicion of felony sexual assault and suspicion of misdemeanor unlawful conduct with a child.
Following his arrest Beeson was held on $150,000 bond.
Beeson was fired from the school last August after having been placed on administrative leave in the wake of accusations of improperly touching a male student in April.
The current charges are the result of the alleged incident last year.
Officers are investigating previous cases in which Beeson was accused by two former students of improperly touching them in the 1990s.
1/31/08 – Bail Reduction
Dozens of supporters watch as judge lowers William Beeson’s bail from $150,000 to $25,000.
Bail was conditioned upon Beeson having no contact with alleged victims or their families, surrendering his passport and not leaving northern Nevada.
2/06/08 – Arraignment Set
Arraignment for William Beeson is set for February 13th.
He remains free on $25,000 bail and the investigation continues.
05/05/08 – Arrested and Jailed Again
On Friday William Beeson was arrested and jailed for allegedly violating court-ordered conditions of his release.
A spokesman for the Storey County Sheriff’s said that Beeson violated his conditions of release by being in the company of a 16-year-old male, who the spokesman described as a runaway and incorrigible juvenile.
Reportedly the boy was at Beeson’s residence.
Following his arrest Beeson was being held without bail in the Storey County jail for contempt of court by violating conditions of his bail release.
05/09/08 – Beeson On House Arrest
William Beeson has been released from jail and placed under house arrest.
While on house arrest Beeson is subject to “warrantless search and seizure conditions”.
07/03/08 – Preliminary Hearing
A preliminary hearing has been held for William Beeson. At that hearing both alleged victims testified.
The prosecution dismissed an alternate charge of sexual assault on a child under 16 after one of the alleged victims testified that he was 16 at the time of the alleged sexual assault.
Storey County Justice Court Senior Judge Edward R. Johnson determined there was sufficient evidence to try Beeson one count of felony sexual assault and one count of gross misdemeanor unlawful contact with a child
02/24/09 – Case Update
William Beeson, who had been working part-time job at Truckee Meadows Community College teaching world religions has been told to leave the Reno campus pending the outcome of sexual assault charges.
08/12/09 – Guilty Plea To Misdemeanor Charge
On Tuesday, William Beeson pleaded guilty to the gross misdemeanor charge of solicitation of a minor to engage in acts constituting a crime against nature.
Beeson faces up to a year in jail and a $2,000 fine at sentencing set for October 16th.
Reportedly, Beeson will have to register as a sex-offender.
10/17/09 – Formal Sentencing
William Beeson appeared in court for formal sentencing on Friday.
He was sentenced to one year in jail and ordered to register as a sex offender for 15 years.
Following the hearing Beeson was handcuffed and led from the courtroom to begin serving his sentence in the Storey County Jail.
With time off his sentence for good behavior, Beeson may be out of jail by June.

this is when we pray that prison justice is administered. And I’m with you, this f**cker continued to molest for years and got a slap on the wrist. Makes absolutely no sense.
This is a truly disturbing thread. Possibly the most damaging serial predator of the bunch (and NOT just because he is gay) does major damage for well over a decade, pleas to a misdemeanor, and gets a year. That’s far less consequence than others have faced for impulsive mistakes, not to mention out-and-out frameups. And it’s certainly less consequence than is faced by the people whose stories are told on this thread. Best of luck to all of you.

Tuesday’s guilty plea came as a result of a deal in which prosecutors agreed not to pursue any charges from accusations prior to April 2007.
Bill was brave today pleading guilty… 1 year and $2,000.00 should be a slap in the face to the idiots that created this mess! Go BILL!!
WTF is wrong with you people!!! Do you not realize this family is blaming someone else for the screwed up lives they created. They are not human enough to take responsibilities for effing up and making mistakes they have created. Bill yes odd, but so were many other VC teachers, how can you forget there were 12 of them. Bill is being singled out because they needed someone to blame their messed up lives on. Unfortunately that person was Bill. These “individuals” were the liars of the school, the fill ins at the graduation because they FAILED at that too with no diploma and maybe even a certificate of attedance if they were lucky. The ones who hated life and because of their own personal issues with their stepdad. These people had NO life goals- their life was going to amount up to welfare and drugs and this was their way to blame their crummy peice of crap lives on. Nice way to ruin peoples lives… All you needed to do was focus in school, want to amount to something and go for it. You chose the drug path, the lying path, the having kids when you are not stable path. YOU chose that life, Bill was NOT the cause of all of your bad life choices. And Aaron W. was in the same crowd as these people, he had no goals and was a sperm donor that got out of lifes responsibities by killing himself. The only thing that would have made welfare people happy is knowing Bill had some extra funds that instead of feeding your kids, will go to your drugs! Let’s just award all of the stupid people in the world… As you can tell the wife wrote in ebonics- definitely a VC failure…
Bill Beeson entered a plea of guilty today.
I had Bill Beason’s classes from Middle School until my senior year of high school. Anyone who had his classes can attest to his behavior being “odd”. For myself and most other people, it simply seemed that: odd.
To hear the allegations now about sexual misconduct really makes me wonder about things I saw and heard; the subtle little things that tell a bigger story when you have the rest of the pieces.
Bill seemed to befriend two types of students. There were the ones who had interest in the subjects that he taught (English, Theater, Choir, etc…) and those who had emotional issues or problems with family. It makes sense if you look at the former as a cover for the latter. It makes him look like he really wanted to help the young adults in the community.
Since he’s dead now, I feel like I can mention his name without hurting anything. If you attended VCHS between 1993 and 1997 you probably remember Aaron W***** (Name altered by site moderator). I don’t know the extent of his problems, but he was a troubled young man. He killed himself a couple of years ago leaving behind a wife and children. Putting together what I know now with what I observed then makes me wonder… is he dead because of Bill?

Yes. a lot of people knew things were going on with boys at Beeson’s house on the hill, at church camp and on the Eureka trips. We should have done something to try and stop it (there must be dozens and I wish they’d come forward)–we didn’t realize the lives that were being damaged. we let Mr. Bill perpetuate a lie that he was just helping those lost boys. and they were lost and now because of him, some of them are more lost. and now his lawyer will portray them as losers, and they will be abused once again. If Beeson had any morality, he wouldn’t put his victims through this–he should admit his wrong-doing and plea-bargain out–take 6 months in prison and then try to change his sorry life.
I personally knew the victim from the 90’s and was aware of it when it happened. We were stupid kids and didn’t do anything about it. I was in many of Bills classes and thought he was just, well, “Bill”, but then I learned what that really meant. Bill is a sick pervert and I hope he rots.
I was a student of Bill’s for 3 years. I knew he was “odd” but I didn’t know about this. I wish my Bros would have told me. You all have my support, but specifically J, Kristin, And Her Husband Better know that I am there for them.
Your husband, and you, are doing the right thing. Yes, it is difficult, but it is the right thing. I only hope others who have been abused will also come forward. there now has to be a truth established and an accounting for what Bill Beeson has done. Every one who has visited this site knows that there are many people who can testify.

2 all the people that think that bill is right i have only one thing 2 say. U R WRONG!!!! i thought that this was finily behind us!!! now my husband has 2 go up 2 VC n testify against bill. My husband has not seen him in 10 to 11 years. Now hw has 2 get off work 2 go up there n tell everyone what happened. He has only told a couple of people. Now it will b a matter of everyone info. The only thing he has asked is that i b there with him. I have know idea how i will b there. I have a kid in in school n another kid that i have 2 take care of around the clock. how am i am i going 2 b there 4 him when its not possible? But i will find a way 2 be there 4 him. That how much i HATE BILL BEESON!!!!!!
