Werner Bloch, 41, a former teacher, dormitory supervisor and tennis coach at Admiral Farragut Academy in St. Petersburg, Florida was sentenced this morning to six years in federal prison, the result of his guilty plea in March to one count of receipt of child pornography.
Bloch’s sentence was about 10 years less than provided in federal sentencing guidelines, this after two defense experts testified he is unlikely to break the law again.
Bloch came to the attention of Immigration and Customs agents who discovered he had subscribed to a website that contained images of children having sex.
Bloch’s plea agreement indicated that he was caught ordering a subscription to the “Boys Say Go” Web site, which allegedly had images of prepubescent boys engaged in sexual activities with one another and adult men.
It was alleged that federal agents found 16,000 images of child pornography on Bloch’s home computer.

It is sad to see what he has come to. He was my teacher and friend for 4 years and I would have never suspected that a single thing was wrong with him. Great teacher and I am saddened that this is how he will be remembered: life ruined and forever shamed. I believe that he is getting punished fairly. Keep in mind that he will be serving longer than many have and will for taking another person’s life.

I knew this guy for quite sometime. Went to school there. He was a good guy and it sickens me. James, that is prob. the same guy because Coach Bloch (as I called him) had a beautiful brown dog. He used to live with his mother till he moved into the dorms. (Middle school) I was a middle school officer and heard nothing of him doing anything. I don’t care what he didn’t do, its wrong and sick no matter what. He’s getting what he deserves but I think he deserves much longer.

I actually knew him. He really wasn’t a bad guy, I lived in the dorms while he was a middle school supervisor when I was a middle school officer for the girls. I would have never guessed….Damn. The sad thing is that he was an excellent teacher and role model and his reputation is now tarnished because of what he looked at not what he did….

You don’t have anything to worry about. He is going to prison for 6 years and then being deported never returning to the US.

Is there a picture of this guy? I live in Palm Harbor and a guy named werner bloch comes to the dog park. He seems to fit the description. The dog park is right next to a playground. I wanna make sure its him before confronting him and telling him to leave.
