Vito Granieri, a Information Technology teacher/aide and occasional substitute teacher at St. Eleanor’s School, in Collegeville, Pennsylvania has reportedly been arrested for allegedly inappropriately touching a student.
Reportedly Granieri is charged with indecent assault, endangering the welfare of a child, corruption of minors, unlawful communication with a minor, unlawful restraint and harassment.
Granieri was arrested by Collegeville Police and arraigned today with bail set at ten-percent of $100,000 and conditioned upon Granieri having no contact with the alleged victim, the alleged victim’s family, the school or other teachers at the school.
Reportedly Granieri was placed on suspension November 13th when school officials became aware of the investigation.
A preliminary hearing for Vito Granieri is scheduled for December 2nd.
11/29/08 – Additional Charges Filed
On Wednesday, Vito Granieri was arraigned on new charges of indecent assault, endangering the welfare of children, corruption of a minor, unlawful contact with a minor and harassment.
The new charges allege inappropriate touching incidents that occurred with two 9-year-old boys at the school between September and November of this year.
The two boys allegedly told authorities Granieri started touching their genitals in the second-grade when Granieri was with the boys in the school’s computer lab or in the lunchroom. The boys have also told investigators that Granieri placed candy in their pants pockets during the alleged inappropriate touching.
Reportedly Granieri is now free on $250,000 bond awaiting a preliminary hear on all charges.
05/29/09 – Granieri Seeks Evaluation of Alleged Victims
Vito Granieri’s attorney has asked a judge to order his accusers, boys ages 11 and 9, to have medical, psychiatric or psychological evaluations to determine their competency and truthfulness.
Granieri’s attorney in a court document stated, “Defendant seeks a competency hearing to determine if the alleged victims are competent to testify at trial and render competent testimony”.

What a sick, twisted perv we have here. Putting candy in their pockets while he fondles their penises? Not trying to sound judgemental, but this guy needs some new hobbies.
wow…. this site does not say that this man is guilty. If he is proven guilty in a court of law then they will add a big red sign above his picture that says “GUILTY”.
And by the way most sex offenders are generally seen as great people in their communities. I’m not saying anyone is right or wrong. I’m just saying that you’d be very surprised by the twisted turns that things can take and who people really turn out to be.
Disclaimer or not, this is an absolute outrage! There is no reason that this article should be posted, especially since it is more or less so claiming Mr. Granieri to be guilty! The author of this article does not personally know a single thing about the alleged, and has no right to post this and assume that Mr. Granieri did those things. I recently saw him and his family at a get-together, and only then was it clear to me the affect that being convicted had on not only him, but his family and friends. Granieri was a magnificient addition to the curch community and only those who knew him can truly understand what a mistake it was for him to be pulled away from it.
Wasn’t there some serial killer that was an outstanding member of his church community too?
And when I was in High School, local to where the above happened, the Youth Group leader (also the Assistant Pastor) was dating one of the teenage girls. We all knew it, her mom knew it and was OK with it. When it finally came out there was the same outrage, IN FAVOR OF this perverted pastor. Until the real truth came out and he left. Interesting how no one believed us kids. I always wonder why no charges were brought. Crazy Christians!

this is very immature of you to write such a title. you know nothing and should not accuse someone whom you don’t know. he is the nicest man on earth. you dont know your story so stick to another one.
Why would you name this article “bad, bad, teacher” when you have NO IDEA what this person is like, what that child is like, and most importantly, if any of the accusations are TRUE? “Free speech” doesn’t negate “innocent until proven guilty.”
This man has been an outstanding part of our parish for a long time. You should be ashamed of yourselves for passing judgment, and passing it along, simply because you can!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
