(07/16/08 - Initial BBT Report)
Virginia Isabel Cammack, 35, a former math and geometry teacher at Morton Ranch High School, in Katy, Texas has been arrested on allegations that she had an improper relationship with a 17-year-old male student.
It is alleged that around Valentine’s Day that the student went to Cammack’s residence to download music from a computer and that Cammack and the student had sex.
Reportedly the boy told investigators that when he went past her, they kissed. The student says he carried her to bed, where they had sex. He says Cammack told him she had a feeling for him that she could not explain.
Cammack came to the attention of authorities when the mother of another student saw the pair outside Cammack’s apartment and contact school officials anonymously.
Following her arrest Cammack was released on $20,000 bond.
Cammack has resigned her teaching position at the school.
Today Cammack made a court appearance and was prohibited from contacting the boy.

look people i used to flirt with ms cammack alot n i knw shes one of the persons that knws life real good. shes a great teacher, she can build relationships with students real easy and i knw that she wouldnt do nothin to hurt anyone. ms cammack is a great person i knw this for a fact cuz she was like a mother to me she was always helping me not only with school but with my personal life and thats something she loves doing. i hope everythin turns out to be good because shes not a bad person shes a great teacher and a great human being.

i know mrs. cammack really well, she’s the nicest teacher i’ve ever had, we would always have lunch in her class and just hangout with her after school, and if she does go down for this it’s retarded because she does not deserve this! she has like, 5 kids! every guy in our school would flirt with her, i seriously doubt that some random 17 year old kid would just “sweep her off her feet” when her husband is a freakin doctor!!! cmon now! i mean, every single guy flirted with her, and she would just laugh! she’s a great teacher, and i hope things turn out for the best!

Jack, I totally agree with you. These are different times and the laws need to catch up with the times.
Why is it the police will believe a 12 year old’s statement and can take the stand in court, but a 17 year old is too much of a child to be able to consent to something sexual. This probably didn’t happen, the boy just bragged to be cool and some parent found out and made a call. Find that parent and you’ll found the problem.

Remember, she is innocent unless she confesses or found guilty in a court. If they did get together as reported, it shouldn’t be a crime because there isn’t a victim here. Two consenting individuals with a biological need to breed. It’s in our biology. Ask any biology teacher.

OMG that’s my teacher!!! she used to teach math in high school over here in CO!!! wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I’d always flirt with her, why couldn’t it have been me??

States will spend millions for passing the AWA which is “doing more harm than good.”
Legislators need to consult the EXPERTS rather than pass knee jerk legislation that actually endangers children and the whole of society. I encourage everyone to write their law makers demanding they stop endangering children with knee jerk legislation and BRING IN THE EXPERTS.
“Maine is one of the few states that is going about this correctly. They are “LISTENING TO EXPERTS, rather than passing emotional knee jerk legislation which protects no one but endangers everyone. The vast majority of states have passed laws that “Do more harm than good.”
Protecting children and society must be done “intelligently.”
