Tyler Trimble, 21, a volunteer assistant coach at Montesano High School in Montesano, Washington has pleaded guilty to a gross misdemeanor in a case where he was accused of showing sexually explicit photos of his then 17-year-old girlfriend to members of the football team, other students and police officers.
Although police recommended several felony charges including possession of child pornography and sexual exploitation of a minor the prosecutor made a deal with Trimble under which he pleaded guilty to the misdemeanor.
Under the plea deal, was sentenced to one year in jail which was suspended, will be required to pay a $500 fine, spend two years on supervised probation and have no contact with his now ex-girlfriend or her family. The prosecutor said the victim wanted to avoid a trial.
Among those to whom Trimble allegedly showed the pictures were a Montesano Police officer and a county corrections officer, neither of which realized the girl was only 17.
