Light, but appropriate given the circumstances. And you can bet the farm that the investigators looked for possible improprieties between 2001 and 2009 and came up empty. The guy’s out of the school system and required to register. That’s plenty.
I am absolutely livid that Todd was given such a lenient sentence. What kind of justice is that for the all the families involved. What kind of message is that giving to other teachers who may be involved in the same scandals. That’s simply showing them that all they are getting is a slap on the wrist. They lock habitual drunk drivers away for longer than that. This only goes to prove how much our legal system can let people down and how someone we trusted (as a school teacher) can damage entire lives.
Wow, 8 months in county jail WITH work release and then 5 years probation? That’s it? That’s it for a teacher preying on his students under his watch? What a joke. It’s a sad day when I have to start questioning the safety of my daughter from the very people I’m trusting her to, if this is the best penalty we can do then all of our students are at risk from their teachers.
Todd Strang has pleaded guilty to the wrongdoings. He is to serve 8 months in the county jail and be on 5 years probation. He must register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.
As a current educator, I can’t believe he got such a lenient sentence. It is a shame and hopefully the children are not involved with him for a long time. I wish the children and the mothers the best of luck and stay strong. You deserved so much better!!!
The sentencing hearing was pushed back (again) until Sept 14th.
Anyone know what the outcome of the sentencing in this case was? Did some quick searches, no info anywhere.
I am completely appalled by much of what has been said on this thread. Why the hell are people attacking the ex wives? They are NOT the ones who had sexual relations with students UNDERAGE, they are simply only guilty of falling for a man who was not who they thought he was. Even if the student(s) were 18, it is still NOT ok for Todd to have sexual relations with them. He’s a teacher, a mentor, a role model (or at least was suppose to be), and he took advantage of these girls. Do I believe these girls are totally and completely innocent? No, but they were obviously taken advantage of and should have stopped the actions before they went this far.
The ex wives have done what needed to be done not only to protect themselves but to also protect their children. They aren’t doing any of this to be vindictive, they are doing what is safe for their children as any mother would do. They are simply protecting themselves from a sexual predator. The precautions they have taken are no different then the precautions any mother would take if they , lets say, lived next to a child molester. These mothers both love their children very much and are only doing whats in their best interest.
An as for you Roger Rabbit or whatever your name is, you probably belong in the cell block next to where Todd will end up. What he did is NOT okay no matter how to try to sugar coat it.
They should release the girl’s name since she is no longer a minor. A 26 year-old that was presumably good enough looking to risk prison and is probably very vulnerable? Hook me up!
I am a former classmate of Todd’s and former close friend. Having not seen him in years, I am shocked to hear of this potentially bonehead choice. The Todd I knew for years was a great person, a great friend and morally upright. However, it appears, from the comments on this page that he has tumbled off the pedestal several times over the past few years since high school. I am really sad to hear of this, but ultimately, what I am seeing from reading this page, reading comments from his ex’s (of which I have met his first wife), what I am seeing is a whole lot of victim’s including Todd. His family, friends, children, the students, and he are all victims of the poor choices that have been made. It really saddens me to see that this star athlete, star student and great friend of mine has slid this far in his life. For those that are reading this and close to him, he needs serious counseling because the Todd I knew wouldn’t have done this….or maybe I didn’t know him as well as I thought I did.
Enough talking about it already… Yeah he most likely did it… Which was a bonehead mistake that could result in a major penalty.. and if he did do it then he completely deserves it! In the mean time, I’m glad the wives could find time to get on this website and post their comments… they really shouldn’t give a **** what people are saying because no one is educated on the matter.. Let’s hope the right verdict is made..
