“Sheerer is the second Warwick staff member in recent years to be charged in connection with alleged sexual contact with a Warwick student.

Former girls’ basketball and softball coach Troy R. May was sentenced in 2005 to 8½ to 30 years in prison after pleading guilty to sexual assault and other charges stemming from his relationship with a 15-year-old basketball player in 2003.”

In references to the coach named “Troy”, there was a last name listed previously but site policy required it be deleted as we have zero basis on which to say “Troy” committed a crime. If anyone can provide one or more links by which we might verify such a person was charged with a crime and/or convicted of a crime we can publish the name, otherwise we can not.

Just heard this happened in my old high school and google led me here… here’s Warwick in all of it’s glory. Poking around this site I noticed that there’s no mention of the girl’s basketball coach that got busted for the same thing a few years back so if someone feels like digging, I’m sure it’s out there…
