Tina Mason, a former teacher at Lubec Consolidated School, in Lubec, Maine has been sentenced to 30 days in jail for having a sexual relationship with a 13-year-old boy.
Mason, who was originally charged with assault, sexual abuse of a minor, and unlawful sexual touching, was also sentenced to two consecutive suspended 11 month jail sentences, each with one year of probation attached.
The victim was not a student at Lubec Consolidated School. He and his family were friends with Tina Mason’s family.
In addition to her jail sentences, Mason is also required to give up her teaching certificate and to register as a sex offender for ten years.

http://www.bangornews.com/detail/93729.html has a bunch of comments on the situation and more information. 30 days isn’t enough 2 to 3 years would be since she pleaded guilty. Plus mandatory intensive sex offender counseling. Her husband should drop the papers on her too.

Taljk about a double standard. If an older man, like me, were to have done this to a _13_ yo girl he normally would get ten years or more. And deserve it, too I might add.
So one cgain, because she is a woman the courts snicker about the boy needing education anyway and give her a slap on the wrist in comparison. Where is our equal protection under the Constitution?

This woman was my teacher a couple of years ago. Its disgusting. This also isn’t the first time she has been accused of something like this. Her husband is still with her, WHAT a joke!! Seriously..I would be running not walking for the door. And god forbid when her children at in the 13 and 14 age group since that seems to be the age group she likes since she also taught 7th and 8th grade!! I MEAN come on!!!!! This is SICK!
