Thomas Eric Allen Jr., a 7th grade social studies teacher at Canton Middle School in Canton, North Carolina has been arrested on allegations that he solicited sex on the Internet from undercover police officers posing as a young boy.

Allen came to the attention of authorities after he allegedly posted ads seeking young boys on Craignslist.com.

Allen was arrested after a online correspondence in which he planned to meet someone he thought was a 15-year-old boy,

Following his arrest, Allen who has been suspended without pay by the school system, was released on $6,000 bond.

Allen Dismissed From School System

Thomas Allen Jr. no longer has a job with Haywood County Schools.

A school spokesman says that Allen is currently being dismissed and information will be forwarded to the Department of Public Instruction for a decision on whether or not Allen’s teaching certificate is maintained or revoked.

    this guy taught me for 4 yrs! he was like my best teacher friend!

    This dude is weird. I never had him, but, I kinda knew him. He was one of my best friends golf coach. I always knew he was real weird and possibly gay.

    he taught me when i was in 5th grade and i was shocked when i heard about this

    He taught me when i was in then 7,8,9th grades. I am very disappointed when i heard about this.
