Ted Thomas Johnson, 48, reportedly a band and fine arts teacher for the Manassas City Public Schools in Manassas, Virginia has been arrested on charges of attempted indecent liberties with a child and misdemeanor sexual battery.

Johnson who reportedly teaches at Osbourn High School and Mayfield Intermediate School was arrested on allegations that he sexually assaulted a 13-year-old girl.
The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office asks that anyone with information regarding Johnson call 540-658-4450
Ted Johnson is initially being held without bond.
2/29/08 – Move Alleged Victims Come Forward
Two more girls, ages 12 and 13, have come forward accusing Johnson of sexually abusing them.
None of the three alleged female victims were students of Johnson’s.
Johnson faces two additional counts of aggravated sexual assault and two additional counts of custodial indecent liberties with a child bringing the total number of counts against him to six.
05/29/08 – Trial Date Set
An October 15th trial date has been set for Ted Johnson.
10/17/08 – Guilty Plea
On October 15th, Ted Johnson pleaded guilty to one count of aggravated sexual battery and two counts of attempted custodial indecent liberties with a child.
As part of the plea deal, three other charges were dropped.
Following his guilty plea, Ted Johnson was remanded to jail to await sentencing on December 15th.
12/17/08 – Sentencing
Ted Johnson has been sentenced to 20 years in prison with all but four years suspended.

I went to Osbourn and knew Mr. Johnson. He was a very supportive and wonderful music teacher to thousands of kids. I was absolutely shocked when I learned about this.
Isn’t this sad. Seems this could have been avoided. What else will come from Manassas?
