Steven Mark Yewcic, a teacher at Woodside High School in Newport News, Virginia is being charged with five counts each of taking indecent liberties with a child and with contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Reportedly police arrested Yewcic yesterday after talking to him about a complaint regarding his relationship with a 17-year-old boy.

Following his arrest, Yewcic is being held at the Peninsula Regional Jail in Williamsburg on a secured bond.

Yewcic has reportedly been suspended by the school system.

09/18/09 – Guilty Plea

Reportedly, Steven Mark Yewcic pleaded guilty Thursday in James City County-Williamsburg Circuit Court to 15 counts of taking indecent liberties with a minor under his supervision.

Yewcic faces up to 75 years in prison.

Yewcic also faces charges in Newport News. A hearing there is set for October 7th.

01/25/10 – Sentencing

Steven Mark Yewcic has been sentenced to 75 years in prison with all but 13 years suspended.

Yewcic will also have to undergo psychological treatment while in prison and will spend 20 years on supervised probation after his release.

Yewcic will be required to register as a sex offender.
