Stephanie Marie Ragusa, 28, a former teacher at Davidsen Middle School in Tampa, Florida has been arrested and charged with five counts of lewd and lascivious battery on allegations of having sex with a 15-year-old boy.
It is alleged that Ragusa had a sexual relationship with the boy and that she had sex with him five times between Oct. 1, 2006 to May 4, 2007.
The alleged victim was never a student of Ragusa, although he attended Davidsen Middle School when Ragusa taught there.
Ragusa who currently works as a math teacher at Martinez Middle School in Lutz, Florida has been placed on paid administrative leave.
In the wake of her arrest, Ragusa was being held without bond at the Hillsborough County Jail. A bond hearing has been set for March 19th.
Investigators now say that Ragusa performed oral sex on the boy twice, and allegedly had intercourse with him three other times. It is further alleged that the victim was also able to describe tattoos located on either side of Ragusa’s groin, tattoos which could only be seen if she wasn’t wearing clothes.
3/18/08 - Released on Bail
A bail bond hearing set for Wednesday was instead held today for Stephanie Ragusa.
Bail was set at at $12,500 and Ragusa made bail and was released from jail shortly after the hearing.
Ragusa has reportedly be placed on unpaid administrative leave by the school system.
04/03/08 - Affidavit Reveals Details of Allegations
An affidavit filed in the case of Stephanie Ragusa reveals several details of the allegations against her including that Ragusa allegedly told the boy he was shy and she could break him of that.
The affidavit also reveals details of the alleged sexual activities between Ragusa and the boy.
Stephanie Ragusa Arrested Again
Stephanie Ragusa has been arrested again after investigators were able to obtain cell phone text message records linking her relationship with another 15-year-old male victim.
Her arrest today was reportedly on charges of lewd and lascivious battery and 2 counts of unlawful sexual activity with a minor.
The latest arrest and charges stem from allegations that Ragusa and the boy had an ongoing sexual relationship as recently as March 10, 2008. Police say that on that date that Ragusa and the alleged victim exchanged text messages, met and investigator say they engaged in oral sex and intercourse.
Following today’s arrest Ragusa was taken to the Orient Road Jail where she is being held pending bond.
Ragusa’s two arrests and two sets of charges are alleging two different male teenage victims.
04/28/08 - Stephanie Ragusa Arrested Third Time
Stephanie Ragusa has been arrested yet again.
Reportedly Stephanie Ragusa was arrested today at the home of the second alleged victim.
Sheriff’s investigators say Ragusa has continued a sexual relationship with alleged victim #2, a 15-year-old boy.
Reportedly when the boy did not show up for school today, investigators went to his home and found him with Ragusa.
Following today’s arrest Ragusa was taken to the Orient Road Jail where she is being held without bond on two counts of unlawful sexual activity with a minor.
Reportedly Ragusa is not talking to investigators…
04/30/08 - More Charges and More Problems
The bail bond company which put up the bond to free Stephanie Ragusa on her earlier arrests has decided to bail on her in light of her third arrest in six weeks.
On Friday prosecutors will attempt to get her earlier bonds revoked in spite of the bonding company’s actions.
For her Monday arrest Ragusa has been charged with two counts of unlawful sexual activity with a minor and three counts of lewd or lascivious battery.
05/02/08 - Bond Hearing Postponed
Today’s bond hearing for Stephanie Ragusa has been put off indefinitely.
Prosecutors are seeking to have Ragusa’s bond revoked on her two earlier arrests.
Ragusa’s lawyer Robert Herce again asked to postpone the hearing in order than he might prepare.
Ragusa remains jailed.
05/08/08 - Documents and Call Transcripts Released
Over the objections of Stephanie Ragusa’s attorney documents and a phone call transcript have been released which shed new light on the case against Ragusa.
Investigators say that Ragusa allegedly had sexual relationships with the four underage boys. She has thus far been charged with sex offenses against two boys. Investigators are not ruling out additional victims and the investigation continues.
Ragusa came to the attention of authorities when a girl at Davidsen Middle School told a school resource officer she had heard that Ragusa had sex with a student. The resource officer informed the principal of the allegation and the principal contacted sheriff’s deputies.
Shortly after Ragusa’s arrest, a teacher caught students passing a note about Ragusa. The note allegedly indicated that Ragusa has sex with other former and current students.
The call transcript indicates Ragusa was aware that her actions were criminal when the boy asked about their sexual relationship:
Ragusa: It’s illegal.
Victim: Oh.
Ragusa: It would be all over the news and everything:
Victim: Oh, like that one Debra Lafave thing?
Ragusa: Yeah.
Victim: Well, like what exactly that we did was wrong, though?
Ragusa: It’s illegal.
Victim: Like what, though?
Ragusa: You’re under 18; I’m over 18 and I don’t know; whatever.

I’m going to go ahead and concur with John and Ken, my friends. I feel that I could have used some special coaching in my studies as well… sweet mercy would I have been ‘Hot for Teacher.’ All BS aside… tell me that she doesn’t somehow look sexier because of the sex scandal… eh? She does; doesn’t she?

Now for the serious business here:
1. You know for SURE that if this was a DUDE giving some ‘extra education’ to a 15-year-old girl, he’d be tasered, tarred and feathered, and they’d probably even consider bringing back ‘quartering’ for the occasion. The double standard is hard to ignore.
2. Let’s be realistic here: What on God’s green earth is wrong with our society? Just a few generations back, people were married and offered land by the US Government when you were 15 years of age. Let’s not pretend the kid didn’t have a clue what was going on here, man. He’s just a lucky bugger.
She’s redefining sex education.
It sounds like she is just another female Sexual Predator. If she was a man, She would be looking at about 25 yrs in prison. But since she is a woman, she probably will get probation and community service.

I can see a 15 year old wanting to have sex with his 29 y/o teacher but honestly, what the hell does a 29 y/o woman see in a 15 y/o boy? She’s not that bad looking so I find it hard to believe that she can’t find a man a little closer to her own age. On a side note…way to go kid!

Woman charged in golf course quarrel

LAND O’LAKES - Pasco County sheriff’s deputies charged a 25-year-old woman with aggravated battery Thursday after her golfing partner claimed she beat him with a club on the 10th tee at Plantation Palms.
According to a Sheriff’s Office report, Michael Zak of Land O’Lakes told deputies he got into an argument with Stephanie Marie Ragusa of Tampa about 4:25 p.m. Zak said Ragusa hit him repeatedly with a golf club, and a deputy reported several red marks appeared on his back. Zak told the deputy he took the golf club away and broke it.
Ragusa told Deputy Mark Connor that she did get into an argument with Zak while playing golf with him, but denied striking him.
Ragusa, of 12442 Berkeley Square Drive, was charged with aggravated battery. She remained in the county jail in Land O’Lakes in lieu of $10,000 bail.
It has been my experience that when male teachers get caught in such behavior, administrations tend to keep it very quiet and, rather than pursue legal action, they ship the teacher to another district. This actually happened no less than four times at my high school, alone, in five years. One teacher actually impregnated two girls in four months… yet to this day, he is still teaching… only now, junior high. Comforting thought, no?
God! I wonder where the hell these sorts of teachers were when i was in MS or HS???? I mean i hit on all of my hot teachers to no avial.

The arrest report said she drove her BF truck over to second boy house. My question is, what kind of loser is the BF to still be with her after she was arrested 2 times for having sex with 2 different boys. She’s pathetic and He’s a wimp. Enough Said.
I went to high school with this girl… Clearwater Central Catholic. This is no joke- when she was only 15, my friend was driving her home from school and she got completely naked in the front seat of his car. Seeing the repulsive troll next to him in that manner, he naturally chose to never drive her home again. We all knew then she had problems. She was an outcast, always desperate to be accepted… my take is that she’s the classic example of a person who’s mind didn’t evolve beyond 16 (emotionally) and still is desperate to get acceptance from kids that age. She obviously doesn’t understand the gravity of the situation, as we see her smiling on camera when she’s got the bracelets on and heading to jail. Have fun in the clink, Ragusa… you won’t have a hard time finding true love in there. Oh yeah, and whoever made the comment about what a loser he boyfriend must be for still staying with her after the first 2 arrests… great point! Dude if you’re reading this, seek help.
The reality is this woman will get 1/3 to 1/5 the jail time a man would get. Cruise through bad teacher and look at all of the women with 6 months, 1 year, suspended sentences, and the guys with 5 years, 10 years, etc for basically the same thing. One guy got 5 years for asking for a nude picture. And woman or girl, a slap on the wrist. The criminal system is so biased against men.
Guys think it would be great to have sex with an adult woman when you were a kid but I don’t think they realize what it would really be like - having your first sexual relationship with someone with that much power over you would mess you up a little.
