Shelisa Marie Nuzum, 24, a former teacher’s aide Pacheco Elementary School in Redding, California has been sentenced to jail for six months for sending flirtatious messages and letting an 11-year-old boy inappropriately touch her over her clothing.
In addition to the jail time, Nuzum will also be on probation for three years and will be required to participate in a sex offender treatment program and will be required to register as a sex offender for life.
The sentence is the result of a plea deal in March under which Nuzum pleaded guilty to two misdemeanor counts of annoying or molesting a child.
Nuzum came to the attention of authorities when the mother of the alleged victim discovered numerous messages on his Internet MySpace page that had allegedly been sent back and forth between her son and Nuzum.
