Shawn Quinney, 27, a teacher at Eagle Advantage Academy, a charter school in Waxahachie, Texas has been arrested on allegations that he that asked a 15-year-old boy he met on MySpace.com to perform indecent acts while on the phone.
It is alleged that Quinney contacted the Dallas boy on MySpace in October. It is further alleged that the online relationship grew into a phone relationship and that Quinney asked the teen to masturbate while on the phone.
Quinney is charged with online solicitation of a minor and sexual performance by a child and following his arrest was reportedly freed on $60,000 bond.
According to cbs11tv.com:
Waxahachie police say Quinney created a MySpace account using an alias and would contact minors through the site.
“During the contact with these minors, Quinney related he would speak of ’sexual things’ and deceived them into thinking that he was somebody that he was not,” police stated in an arrest warrant.
Of the minors Quinney allegedly contacted online, one was reported to be a 15-year-old male who attends Eagle Advantage Academy. Police do not at this time believe that Quinney had actual physical contact with the student.

Man, what to even say about something like this…. The latest comment was on March 15th so obviously people are still coming back to this website checking in on the latest. Needless to say, this was pretty shocking for everyone who knows Shawn. It’s not up to me to defend him and it’s especially not up to me to prosecute or judge him. Here on earth, that is up to the court systems but more importantly, he will stand before God and give an account of his life. God still has a plan for Shawn’s life. His word promises that His love and mercy never end. I’m so glad that no matter what we do, there is ALWAYS hope for each of us!!! I think we can all be grateful that this surfaced soon enough and that the situation wasn’t worse than it was.
he was my teacher. he was the director of”Guys and Dolls” in 2007-2008. i cant believe he did this. but he was kind of strange.

you are sick, sick! You have no idea who he is apparently…if you knew him, really knew him—you wouldn’t beleive everything you read or hear. I wonder what you know about the Eternal One?…don’t be so quick to judge…
My son was a student at EAISD last year. Just reading this in the local papers made me feel sick. Anyone remember that he dressed as SANTA CLAUS for 2007 at the school? How many boys got to sit on that lap? Not that I know if any did, but I have the pictures to prove that he dressed this way. Did he get his jollies? Mr. Quinney also worked for CPS!!! Stay away from the kids if you can’t keep your hands off, or you will pay the consequences. Either in this life or in your eternal one.
and I never said that all he needed was grace…but he does have it!
Good for you:) I never said this would be “magically healed.” I don’t believe that in any way, but I do KNOW that lives have already been saved because of this, lives/souls that were once doomed for hell, will now be in Heaven. I am not in any way excusing this, but the Lord will win and the lies of the enemy have been broken. How about you just pray for all involved and don’t act like you know them. Wishing and praying are two different things.
So you know him that’s great. As for your comment about me being careful about what I read I would say this I have read the police repot that details his confession the creating alternative my space account and to his phone conversation and masturbation session with an underage child. As I said previously I wish him the best but situations like this don’t get magically healed. My main issue lies with your attitude about all he needs is grace. If this is infact proven in court and a conviction given he needs more help then just grace! Clinical help to sort out his issues!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Be Real—You may have gone to school with Shawn, but I know him. Don’t believe what you read…and never once has anyone said that there wouldn’t be consequences, but there is favor, grace, and mercy. Until you know the story, the true story…
I also went to SAGU and knew Shawn while in school. I do agree that he can get over this, and that God can heal the situation with the children involved. But being a victim of abuse myself this give him a break attitude is ridiculous. He does need to be punished and pay his time for the crime. I don’t feel bad that he will have to do that. Abuse or acts like this stick with a person even if healing takes place and it affects them for the rest of their life. For people that think magic fairy God dust is just going to make it perfect I would say that its easier to say those things when you have never been affected by this type of crime!
So Shawn I do wish you the best but if there is a conviction you need to pay your time just like everyone else.

I love Shawn. He is a good person who just needs grace. We all have something that we struggle with. He just happens to struggle with an addiction that he can and will overcome. I believe in Shawn. I believe in the Grace of God. I believe that the young men that were affected will be healed. I know that Shawn has a strong calling in his life to minister to others. He just gave in to something that is bigger than him. He just needs to give it to God.. get some counseling… let’s not judge… He is a good person.. who just is struggling…

That whole school is messed up. A teacher cursed us out and quit. another claimed he got lime disease and quit. you dont know anything so back off.

shame, shame, shame… somebody should’ve taught him some better moral values. i seen this guy a few times and something about him was always off. he gave off a weird vibe, like his insecurites were screaming out “give me attention!”. He dressed super gay, and well now its obvious that he is. a gay, pedifile working at a chrisitian based charter school??? wheres the discernment in that one guys???? way to uphold the seven pillars of EAISD Quinney…
