Scott Ballard, 33, a music teacher and band director at Medina Central High School in Medina, New York has been arrested on allegations of official misconduct for allegedly initiating relationships with two of his former students.

Reportedly Ballard turned himself in on Friday, as requested by New York State Police and was subsequently released on his own recognizance.

It is alleged by investigators that in 2004 and 2006 that Ballard engaged in inappropriate relationships with two then 17-year-old female students.

Reportedly rumors of Ballard’s alleged misconduct surfaced in 2004 and were investigated by school administrators who concluded the rumors were “hearsay” and that there were no substantial facts upon which to act.

Subsequently more rumors surfaced of a second improper relationship between Ballard and another girl. As a result the then school superintendent requested a police investigation.

Ballard is currently under a temporary protective order prohibiting him from being upon school property.

Ballard was arraigned in the Town of Shelby court, however his case is being transferred to the Village of Medina court.

Ballard is scheduled to appear for further proceedings on September 29th.
