Sandra Bratt, 31, a third-grade teacher at Peebles Elementary School in Peebles, Ohio has been arrested on allegations of having sex with a child.
It is alleged that Bratt began having sex with the boy six years ago, when he was 11-years-old.
It is also alleged that Bratt gave the boy money and drove him to another town to purchase drugs.
Reportedly, Bratt turned herself in to an off-duty Adams County Sheriff’s deputy on Thursday night after attempting to purchase drugs for the boy she is accused of sexually abusing.
Sheriff Kermit Howard, of Adams County is quoted as saying, “She had been with him and going to another county purchasing drugs for him and I suppose her conscience got the best of her and she turned herself in”.
Bratt has reportedly been charged with sexual battery and is being held in the Adams County Jail on bond of $50,000.
A preliminary hearing for Sandra Bratt is set for next Thursday.
9/01/07 - Preliminary Hearing Waived
On August 30th, Sandra Bratt appeared in Adams County Court and waived her preliminary hearing which clears the way for her case to go to a grand jury.
1/02/08 - Guilty Plea
Today Sandra L. Bratt entered a guilty plea in the Court of Common Pleas of Adams County on one count of rape of a victim under 13 years of age.
Information on sentencing and sex offender classification hearings was not released by the court.
Although Bratt pleaded guilty to a 1st degree felony and it is presumed she will serve some prison time, such a sentence is not required. Because of the nature of the charge, Bratt will be classified as a tier-three sexual offender required to renew the classification every 90 days for life.
1/16/08 - Sentencing
Sandra Bratt has been sentenced to seven years in prison to be followed by five years on probation.
Bratt must also register as a sex offender when released from prison.

A friend~I Feel so sorry for you.
I really do,But I have to say That the one on the paper The one on the news ect~is the one u was friends with~It just shows how easy Child molesters can fool People~Not just children But adults too.I Also wanted to say that a huge percentage of Child molesters choose victims they know. Its sickening to think about but we as a cummunity need to speak out about What we know with the other teachers that have done or is doing this type of things here in our adams county schools. (i saw alot of this going on with teenagers between ages 13 to 17 In my high school days at peebles.) Anyone who knows of this start writing letters to the peoplesdefender news paper in west Union, ohio to the editor He will print our thoughts, our concerns , What We Know & ect for free.I can name a handful of know molesters! From when I went to school there.(And I am just 31 years old Some of them may still be employed there!)GOD HELP US!AND THE CHILDREN !NOT THE MOLESTERS!
