Ryan Christopher Janssen, 31, a former health and physical education teacher at Norwalk High School, in Norwalk, Iowa has been charged with sexual-exploitation after a former student comes forward with allegations that she had a two year long “affair” with Janssen.
The now 18-year-old female told Norwalk police that she began a sexual relationship with Janssen while she was a 16-year-old junior at Norwalk High School.
Reportedly the girl graduated earlier this year.
The alleged victim has told police that Janssen promised to leave his wife for her and that Janssen bought her clothes, a ring, a living room set, a flat-screen TV and a cellular phone.
Reportedly Janssen admitted the sexual relationship to school officials last weekend and resigned effective September 2nd.
Janssen could face up to five years in prison if convicted.

Ryan Christopher Janssen has pleaded guilty to lascivious acts with a minor.
Janssen could have been sentenced to one year in jail, however he was placed on probation.
Janssen will be required to register as a sex offender for ten years.
Janssen is also barred from interaction with anyone under 18, except his children, without adult supervision until further order of the court.
06/18/09 – Janssen Jailed For Continuing Sexual Relationship With Victim
During a routine polygraph test June 10, Janssen told authorities he had sexual contact with the victim “approximately eight times” since January, according to a law enforcement parole violation report.
Ryan Janssen has reportedly be jailed for 30 days for up to 11 years on probation for continuing his sexual relationship with an 18-year-old girl.
Janssen received a one-year deferred judgment in December and a one-year probation. He would have been exempt from conviction if he had completed his probation without incident.
If Janssen does not violate his one-year probation, a mandatory 10-year “special sentence” kicks in that keeps him on probation until 2020. A first-time violation of the special sentence carries a mandatory two-year prison term.

for those of you wondering why she came forward about the relationship after two years, it’s because he tried to end it with her and she did not like that.
Mr janssen, what you did was wrong. BUT the girl is viable for compensation to the guilty party. despite the fact she was 16 she knew exactly what she was doing. He misused his power yes, but she should have said no at some point. I knew this girl, she was smart enough to know what was going on, and not one person should feel sorry for her.

Why did she wait 2 years before coming forward? He claimed he was going to leave his wife (which is a lie 99% of the time) and it looked as if the 1% chance was not going to happen. So after 2 years, she decided “times up”…I’m just guessing.
