Ronald J. Thatcher, 73, of Bellevue, Nebraska, reportedly a retired substitute school teacher for private schools in Omaha, Nebraska and the Bellevue Public School system has been charged with three counts of third-degree sexual assault on a child.
It is alleged that Thatcher sexually assaulted a girl who was 7-years-old at the time of the first incident.
The alleged sexual assaults are said to have taken place in the Bellevue area a few years ago and involve an alleged victim who was not one of Thatcher’s students. According to police, the alleged victim has come forward recently.
It is further alleged that Thatcher sexually assaulted the girl over a two and a half-year period with one alleged incident occurring in 2002, and the two others occuring in 2005.
Reportedly Thatcher is currently free on bond.

Truth??? My GAWD people… have you listened to yourselves? “He had B.O… “He yelled at me because I hit a wrong note” “He wore long sleeved shirts, all year round”. Yeah, this dude is different… REAL different, but that doesn’t make him a child molester. Most of the music teachers I’ve been taught by I’d consider “a bit different.” Music as a passion must attract folks that are wired that way for some reason… but to have an angry ex-wife bring this up three years after a MESSY divorce… something smells fishy.
After 50 years of teaching there should be a line around the block of 6 to 45 year olds telling their story if ANY of this is true… instead I see a line of meddling gossips who bring no value to the argument. Simply by being listed here the gentleman is deemed GUILTY and you all pile on with NO real knowledge of this allegation!
There but for the grace of GOD go ANY of us… all it takes is a vindictive ex-wife with an axe to grind to suggest to her daughter that “Daddy did things” and you’re up the river for the rest of your life… true or NOT. That’s why we have the courts and not the town square pillory. Truth and justice will prevail and the TRUE victim here will be vindicated. Will you all come back here to say nice things then… or will you be on to the next trashing of someone’s character? With only innuendo sites like this lack TRUTH and TRUTH is what is needed here!
wow this used to be my violin teacher…. i was like 7 at the time. i stopped going to him because he would swear and yell at me when i hit a wrong note… justice is served.
I can’t belive this purvert! I think I know the little girl he did this to. We used to be best friends and she’s never acted the same for years. I should have know something was wrong or told someone. I feel so guilty. I hope this man rotts in jail for a long time and then burns in hell!!!
Was a slim when he taught all of us at Nathan Hale. It’s a shame that in the 60’s nobody listen to the children who complained that there was something wrong with him. Maybe if someone listened this idiot would have been stopped.
He was my music teacher at Nathan Hale/ Thomas Jefferson in Northvale NJ. He came to my house and I took piano lessons from him. I never liked him (very intimidating) and he smelled bad. What a scum. Why is he free on bond?
Well, he was always good to me, but then, pedophiles pick on kids who don’t have someone to defend them, and I did. When I got to high school, I heard he’d been fooling around with a friend of mine (not from Northvale.) I saw him once when I was in college. It looked like he was living in his van with a girl he introduced as his fiancee. She looked about 16.

he always came across as Mr Cool , jeez, to think he gave private lessons to my sisters. what a sleeze!! He had been my music and chorus teacher for all my time in Nathan Hale.
I remember this guy well. He thought music in Northvale, and he was the most discusting person. Really a pervert. I dont even want to think about how many other kids he did things to. Hope they put him away !
