Ronald D. Suitts, 56, a former German teacher at Larkin High School in Elgin, Illinois has been arrested and charged with criminal sexual assault on allegations of a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old female student.
The arrest is the result of a three month investigation conducted by Elgin Police after a now 22-year-old woman came forward alleging that Suitts carried on a relationship with the her from the fall of 2002 until the fall 2003.
During the course of the investigation, detectives obtained a search warrant permitting them to overhear and record conversations between Suitts and the alleged victim.
Bail for Suitts has been set in the amount of $100,000.
If convicted, Suitts faces up to 15 years in prison.

News media reports indicate that in July, 2005 Roand D. Suitts was arrested on allegations of sexually abusing a 15-year-old female student at the school.
Originally he was charged with four counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse for acts investigators say took place from Jan. 1, 2001, to July 1, 2004.
In January, 2007 it is reported that Suitts, in a plea deal, pleaded guilty to misdemeanor battery and was sentenced to two years strict probation, barred from teaching in Illinois classrooms and required to give up his teaching certificate.
10/02/09 – Guilty Plea
Reportedly, Ronald D. Suitts pleaded guilty Friday to to aggravated criminal sexual abuse for sexually abusing a 16-year-old student.
Under the plea deal, Suitts was sentenced to four years of sex offender probation and three months of electronic home monitoring.
Kane County Judge Thomas E. Mueller also ordered him to have no unsupervised contact with children other than his own.

he has robbed my daughter of so much, i think only you can really understand just how much. but i think the way the larkin community treated her was the worst.
ladyhawk; i believe it is because his lawyer knew about your conversations with da that suitts decided to plea bargain and that saved her from facing a trial, so thankyou
proverbs, my daughter spent a year out of the country while this played out, so i understand your wanting to go away and forget after graduation.
at first, my daughter was thrilled and vindicated to hear he had been arrested again, but now she fears she will be dragged back into something she would rather forget. and yes, she is angry that no one spoke in her defense.
as for me, i would like nothing better than to see him face jail time, and if his cellmates makes him his girlfriend..all the better
Momma- When your daughter came forward I hadnt realized the girl sitting behind me in german was a victim too. When I realized how he had hurt her too, I contacted her and told her Id be willing to help but my case had little evidence to put him away. I always had empathy for your daughter but the DA I had talked to said I didnt have enough to help.
I would be more than willing to give a statement or testify against him.
proverbs, her goal in 05 was to get him out of the classroom and stop him from preying on other girls. she accomplished that. but in the process, many people turned on her. she doesn’t want anything to do with anybody from larkin. she does not want to have to think about suitts ever again.. she has been in contact with christine in the da’s office since your story broke. i’ll pass along your addy, but you’ll understand if she doesn’t use it…every other victim denied it when she needed support
proverbs and ladyhawk: my daughter was the first to come forward. it was a terrible ordeal for her to be all alone. although i wish you had been there to support her at that time, please know i applaud your courage at this time.
Proverbs- Was in 2005 Honors German. I had talked to the district attorney last year and they took evidence, but I may have been 18 when he crossed the physical line which is hard to remember when what happened over the two years he chose to be “around me.” I need to talk to you and the other girl. I know her, but not you.
I was 16 when Suitts started having an inappropriate relationship with me. I always defended him vigorously with some naive ignorance. I knew one of the two girls who came forward and I had grown to learn what he was doing was inappropriate. Im now 22 and pray he gets what he deserves for taking advantage over me nd those other girls. I havnt pressed charges but I would testify to put him away.
I was one of his students for 3 years. Everyone including other teachers felt he was perverted in some way or another. Whether it was a sexual remark or just the way he looked at girls. What I find strange in this case is if the student felt this was inappropriate why wait until now to report it. If she was scared I could understand waiting until you graduated, but this student graduated in 2004. Why the 4 year wait? I am 22 as well and know far better than to put myself in that situation and how to handle the situation at the time it happened, not 4 years later!!!!! I would have know when I was 16 as well as I know now. I do not blame her, but come on people a little more responsiblity would have put this man behind bars 4 years ago!!!!!!!!!!!
He was my teacher for four years and was a fantastic teacher but a really inappropriate and creepy guy. When I was a student there were several girls with whom he had really scandalous interactions and who never came forward, so from where I sit it looks like he’s being charged for a very small portion of what most likely is responsible for.
