Ronald Sherman Arrested

Ronald Scott Sherman, 61, a former a former teacher at Dixie High school in St. George, Utah has been arrested on one count of forcible sexual abuse and four counts of sexual battery amid allegations that he sexually abused four of his students.

Sherman was placed on administrative leave this April after some students complained of inappropriate comments from Sherman. The school system undertook an investigation, interviewed students and allegations of inappropriate touching surfaced.

Sherman resigned from the school on May 24th.

Update 07/06/07:

Sherman has now been officially charged with five counts of sexual battery, a misdemeanor charge carrying a maximum of one year in jail on each count.

Prosecutors allege that Sherman either touched or grabbed the buttocks of the girls during class, rubbed himself against one girl’s thigh and asked two other girls to see their genitals, offering one of them $100.

The alleged crimes are said to have taken place between August 2006 and May 2007.

Sherman is scheduled for his first court appearance on Tuesday.

Ronald Sherman pleaded innocent to all charges during a court appearance yesterday.

    ok. this is how it went… “mr. sherman, I don’t have any underwear on under this tiny little mini skirt I’m wearing”…said the eighteen year old who screams solicitation. “uh, you are a tease, I bet you wouldn’t even show me for $100 bucks” said by the typical male who just happens to teach ceramcis to a bunch of young hot females wanting his validation. I guess they got it didn’t they. got the most beloved teacher in Dixie high to resign. how sad for the rest of the students who will not get the chance to have their lives enriched by a teacher as awesome as he. Love ya Mr. Sherman. I know it’s not as it sounds.

    I’m so glad I didn’t take his ceramics class now…He was one of the popular teachers too…creeeepy
