Roberto Rodriguez, 31, a library staffer and girls’ soccer coach at Lake Middle School in Denver, Colorado has been arrested on allegations that he had a sexual relationship with a female student.
Rodriguez is facing charges of sexual assault on a child and sexual assault on a child by a person in a position of trust.
He came to the attention of police by way of a call from school administrators who learned of the alleged relationship.
Rodriguez is reportedly being held in the Denver County Jail in lieu of $100,000 bond.
He has an initial court appearance set for Friday.

Roberto in fact wasn’t a teacher he was damn librarian and a coach, a good one too.! That little girl was obsessed with him.! She always tryed to literally get his attention anyway she can.! Roberto wanted to help everyone in anyway he can with their troubles that that pest took advantage of that was another story.! He was a good mentor and I know he wouldn’t never do anything like that.! All of you people need to stop criticizing him for what you’ve only heard cause that little girl only wants attention and said that stuff so he could get arrested since she couldn’t have him.! I think if Roberto was a sex freak he would certainly go after older women he was handsome and had no reason to be preying on little girls like most of you say and think. Second of all for the person who posted a comment saying that the kids at Lake were vulnerable you best shut the (Expletive deleted by site moderator) up cause there are many smart kids in that school for a fact.! What are you trying to say by that anyways? Do you have something against kids that are special educated.!? Chivo is innocent! he has been one of my closest friends and i kno he would never do something that stupid!! that girl is stupid and just wanted attention since nobody liked her! i’ve known Roberto for a really long time and he isn’t that kind of guy..
Roberto was a terrible teacher, mentor and coach. He’s a bad person who deserves to be exactly where he is, jail. He preyed on little girls and took advantage of them – its obvious when you read the posts here that the kids at Lake were vulnerable, they can’t even read or write!!!!! How sad this is for the poor girl he took advantage of, her life is ruined forever. Can’t wait to find out the outcome of this case as he’s still sitting in jail awaiting trial.

Roberto has always proven himself to be a great guy, amazing father, and has devoted his life to helping kids of all ages, races, and backgrounds. He is innocent. Plain and simple. I’ve known him all my life and know this is NOT something he would do. Ever.
