I’d like to believe all of Bob’s supporters, but the only facts that continue to come out are more victims coming forward and his bond being raised.
Not looking good for ol’ Bobby Boy.
I went to LaSalle in the early 90s as well. He definitely had his “favorites.” I am not surprised by this at all…No question.
I went to LaSalle in the early 90s and also rowed for Bob. This, however, does come as a surprise to me. He had an old school tough style as a coach and a teacher, but there were never any “acts” that I saw or even heard about as inappropriate. It’s just a sad day, if the allegations are proven tru, he should be punished accordingly. However, if they are indeed false, the damage is already done and cannot be repaired.
I went to Lasalle in the early 90’s and rowed for Bob. None of this is a surprise. I heard plenty of rumors after I graduated from people in positions to know. Bob is a pretty congenial guy, but where there is this much smoke…
Looks like a deer caught in the headlights. He reminds me of a middle-aged man trying to look like a preppy. He must have had to put up $75k for bail. Wow! The best thing he’s got going for himself now is that he’s not bearing the watermark BADBADTEACHER.COM
Wait until you see the facts that come-out about this case..your opinion of Mr. Reinhardt may change. This guy has left a trail of speculation everywhere he’s been-from LaSalle High in the late 80’s to Gunnery today. For 20 years Reinhardt has maneuvered himself into positions of power over young males and he has been quietly dismissed from every post he’s held. The difference is that this time someone finally had the guts to come forward.
To discredit the victims by calling them losers is ignorant on your part. If you know him as well as I think you do, think back at all the times he would be accompanied by a male student who is usually small and frail, like a coxswain. He would give these students rides to and from practice and invite them stay over his house. Sound familiar?
Yes he was a good coach, and as I remember, he was a good science teacher, but this is a predator we are talking about, the perfect chameleon, and it’s about time he was caught
I have known Robert Reinhardt for four years, and, my family and I have only had positive experiences in our relationships with him. Rob has always had the best interest of my children at heart and I trust him implicitly. Over the years he has provided guidance and support with an open heart. He has taken time out of his busy schedule to speak with us and provide guidance. Rob has always been a wonderful sounding board for me when making decisions on behalf of my children. He happily provides input and suggestions as to what would be best for each of them, as individuals, while considering my perspective as well. He never pushes or dominates, only carefully listens and discusses with an open mind…always taking my child’s best interest as heart. Rob has always handled himself in a positive professional manner. He is a no-nonsense coach and educator. It saddens me that these allegations are given the air to breathe and create havoc in his life when Rob’s only aim was to positively shape the lives of all his students. I too have made many unannounced visits to The Gunnery. He was my son’s dorm parent and my daughter was part of the crew program. I’ve always observed Rob open and available to all his students; he held an open door policy which I took advantage of as well. I’ve always observed Rob going out of his way to assist each student to the best of his ability. He was and is a leader, a mentor, a coach, a teacher and a friend. I have the highest respect for Rob today and always.

I think Parent (#21) has it exactly right in his/her beautifully written comment here.
I’ve known Mr. Reinhardt for over ten years and I have been and continue to be huge fans of his, both as a person and as an important contributor to the Gunnery community.
When I heard about this I immediately thought of Dead Poet’s Society and what happened to Mr. Keating except in this case, it’s a few frightened parents, not the school who are turning on him.
While I agree with those above who say that we may not have all the facts here and we should be careful with what we say, I can say without reservation that no matter what happens, Mr. Reinhardt has my support and I will always admire what he did for the Gunnery and for the students who loved working with him.
As a current parent, it is my opinion that The Gunnery is, and continues to be, a fantastic school, offering its students among the finest college prep programs available. This is a community where people — students, faculty, and families alike — truly care about one another. Mr. Reinhardt is recognized universally in The Gunnery community as an even-handed, no nonsense Dean of Students and an exemplary educator, who has worked diligently to shape positively the lives of hundreds of students and athletes. Anyone in The Gunnery community reading these sensationalized news stories, founded solely on the allegations proffered by the plaintiff attorneys, knows that these stories are fabrications from two very bitter students. Sadly, rather than trying to find the truth, including why their children have fabricated these vicious stories, these parents are on blind quest to prove that their children are honest. As a result, these plaintiffs have set upon what I believe to be a course of “mud slinging” with baseless allegations about Mr. Reinhardt and The Gunnery community as a whole. Mr. Reinhardt was my son’s dorm parent and crew coach. As a parent volunteer for that dorm, I often arrived unannounced: days and evenings; weekdays and weekends. Based on my own observations, it is my opinion that Mr. Reinhardt is the epitome of the compassionate, selfless educator, devoted to helping students gather the threads of life and create the best possible foundation for today’s world, students imbued with an unquenchable thirst for lifelong learning. I trust that Attorney Dow will prove that Mr. Reinhardt is innocent and that The Gunnery — the place and the community — is, and continues to be, a great school.
**also, idk if the gunnery students will get away with going to the court, bc obviously the “victims” will be there and they probably want to keep their identity sealed.

To Joe:
I had Bob as a teacher and coach and I know about 50 others as well where he taught at LaSalle, get your facts straight. He never once pulled the kind of stunts mentioned and I know of no ones’s life that was ruined by him.
What long history? What high school? You can’t just throw that out like that!! For some people Rhino is already a target because they heard he is gay. Considering what homes some kids come from it’s no wonder if they can’t seperate compassion and affection from sexuality. You take one for the other and neurotic parents can send this man to jail and ruin his life. Rhino is a good man!!
Mr. Reinhardt was an incredible dean. Now, I have no idea if these allegations are false or true but point being that Mr. Reinhardt’s life will be ruined if he gets sentenced to 60 years. He managed the kids at Gunnery extremely well and was a good enforcer. He was strict and stern yet still compassionate and approachable. I know, that Rhino will surely be missed.
Good Luck
