Robert R. Schumacher, 39, a business teacher at Middletown High School in Middletown, Delaware has reportedly been arrested on allegations of having a sexual relationship with a then 17-year-old female student.

Reportedly, Schumache turned himself in today and was arrested on 10 counts of 4th-degree rape.

After processing, Schumacher was reportedly released on $25,000 secured bond.

It is alleged that Schumacher befriended a then 17-year-old female student in 2005 and the girl became a babysitter for Schumacher. It is further alleged that their relationship eventually turned sexual and that sexual encounters took place between the two primarily at Schumacher’s residence, but also once in a school classroom.

The alleged relationship is said to have ended when the girl graduated in 2006, having lasted approximately seven months.

Schumacher came to the attention of authorities when the father of the alleged victim learned of the relationship and urged his daughter to go to police. The alleged victim came forward several months ago.

    well his wife was my teacher n i feel very bad for her . he is still a pervert. what bout his family. what does he think they are going to do or how they are treated . he is a ass and deserves to be punished. plus she walked in on them can u imagine what went through her mind. soo sad. soooo very saddd!

    Well, I graduated a year earlier, and there were rumors (started by the alleged student) about their sexual relationship. I can’t say I don’t believe it happened especially considering he turned himself in.

    I don’t know if I believe this or not. I was in the graduating class of 06 and this guy was my high school class adviser. He was a fun guy to be around and to hear of this caught me completely off-guard.

    Here we go again– a goatee and mustache, the face of a pervert! You see the same look over and over on this website.

    This guy is a damn fool and deserves to go to jail. He’s lucky the girl’s dad didn’t take justice into his own hands.

    The rules of the game are very simple; if they’re under 18, they’re completely OFF LIMITS. Break the rules, and you go to jail. But in this game, there’s no such thing as a “get out of jail” card.

    This business teacher should have been minding his own business and not messing around with a teenager. What the hell’s the matter with him!
