(1/24/08 – Initial BBT Report)
Robert “Andy” Gillespie, 24, a substitute teacher at McGary Middle School and Stockwell Elementary School in Evansville, Indiana has been arrested on a preliminary charge of child solicitation.

Allegedly Gillespie engaged in an on-line relationship since June of 2007 with what he thought was a 14-year-old girl. In reality the girl was Carmel Police detective John Pirics.
It is alleged that over the course of time Gillespie in on-line conversations with the “girl” – sent lewd photos of himself, talked about sex, asked for photos of the girl and instructed her to perform a sex act upon herself.
In on-line conversation last week Gillespie allegedly said that he would be in the Indianapolis area over the weekend and wanted to meet up with the girl. A meeting time and place were arranged and Gillespie was arrested when he showed up.
Allegedly Gillespie admitted to chatting with, sending naked photos to, and attempting to meet with what he believed was a 14-year-old girl.
Authorities do not believe at this time that Gillespie, who is also a disc jockey for an Evansville University radio station, had any improper contact with students of the school where he taught as a substitute.
Following his arrest Gillespie was freed on $45,000 bond.
