Robert C. Baker, 58, assistant principal at Cloud Elementary School in Wichita, Kansas has been arrested upon allegations that he sexually abused a 6-year-old girl at the school.
Baker was arrested Wednesday night. Police have forwarded to the District Attorney’s Office a case file alleging one count of Aggravated Indecent Liberties with a Child.
Baker’s arrest came after a two-week investigation.
Baker came to the attention of police when school officials filed a report on February 4th.
On that date it is alleged that Baker touched the victim’s private area while at school. An affidavit submitted by investigators alleges that the victim had visible injuries.
Reportedly Baker, who has been with the district since 1974, has been placed on administrative leave by the school system.
Following his arrest, Baker was reportedly released on $250,000 bond.
06/18/09 – Charges Dropped
All charges against Robert C. Baker have been dropped at the request of the prosecution.
Marc Bennett, chief deputy district attorney of the crimes against children indicated that medical evidence reviewed by experts raised questions concerning the nature and cause of the injury and as a result the state would not proceed further.
The charges against Baker were dismissed without prejudice.
Baker’s attorney was quoted as saying, “the state realized the evidence did not show a crime occurred, causing the district attorney to drop the charges”.
Reportedly, Baker is looking forward to enjoying his retirement.

This is a good example why the field of education can be a very dangerous career to pursue. Even though this man has been exonerated, he is still castigated by hateful morons. They had their chance to fry him. Now it’s time to back off.
The charges have been dropped against Mr. Baker as I knew they would. This man was a fine educator. He was my principal and I am grateful that justice has been done. It would be nice if you would please remove him from your website as he was never a “bad teacher” or person.

This fruitloop was the principal of Gardiner Elementary school when I was there.
This 59 year old pedophile deserves to be put away for the remainder of his time on earth. The news indicated that he may be given probation as a punishment option. I say hell no, he committed this grave offense and deserves to be put away for the remainder of his natural life on earth!!!!!!!!!The Kansas District Attorney’s Office will hear from an outraged citizenry if they extend to Robert C. Baker probation only. Sedgwick County will be turned upside down for failing to prosecute in the appropriate manner.
is this how parents raise there little brats to lie on men to get them in trouble and put in jail saying he touched me in a wrong way so they can get out of the trouble they are in.Mr Baker would not even dream of doing something like this.Next she will accuse her dad if she has one of the same thing as she gets older because this is the way of life to her.Mom get a hold on your daughter as well as all you other mothers who have put men behind bars for this same untold truth these men are always guilty because society believes that if a child says it oh my it must be the truth right we are so screwed up no wonder or kids are.
these little girls noadays live in another world I have known Mr Baker for 20 years and know he is no where near this type of person.people get in control of your little girls lies or you could be the next victim for correcting them.
