(09/15/08 – Initial BBT Report)
Robert R. Becker Jr., 36, a substitute teacher’s aide and volunteer assistant junior varsity boy’s basketball coach at Franklin Central School in Franklin, New York has been indicted by a Delaware County Grand Jury on allegations that he had sex with one underage girl and attempted to have sexual contact with two other underage girls.
Becker was indicted on Thursday, arrested on Friday and jailed without bond pending arraignment today.
Becker is reportedly facing 3 counts of third-degree rape, 1 count of third-degree criminal sexual act, 4 counts of endangering the welfare of a child and 1 count of second-degree attempted sexual abuse on allegations of the sexual abuse of 3 females all under 17-years-old.
Reportedly Becker came to the attention of authorities when one of the girls came forward to school administrators, who then referred the case to authorities.
09/17/08 – Case Update
Robert Becker Jr. has made an initial court appearance and entered a not guilty plea to all charges.
Becker is currently free on bond.
09/27/08 – New Indictment Means More Charges
Robert Becker Jr. has been indicted on four more charges of child sexual abuse, including first-degree rape.
Becker was arraigned Friday on felony charges of first-degree rape, first-degree sexual abuse and misdemeanor charges of second-degree unlawful imprisonment and endangering the welfare of a child.
01/13/09 – Guilty Plea
Robert R. Becker Jr., pleaded guilty Monday to third-degree rape, endangering the welfare of a child and second-degree attempted sexual abuse.
Reportedly Becker whose trial was to start today entered into a plea deal with prosecutors which will result in Becker being sentenced to one year in jail and 10 years of probation.
Under the terms of the plea deal Becker will be required to register as a sex offender.
01/16/09 – Second Guilty Plea
On Thursday, Robert R. Becker Jr. pleaded guilty to two counts of first degree sexual abuse, fulfilling the terms of a plea agreement.
Under the terms of the plea deal, on March 2nd, Becker will be sentenced to one year in jail, 10 years of probation and registration as a sex offender.
03/11/09 – Sentencing Delayed
Robert Becker Jr. was not sentenced sentenced Monday as scheduled.
The proceeding was postponed at the request of Delaware County District Attorney Richard Northrup, who asked for an adjournment to give him time to make additional motions in the case.
The case was rescheduled for March 30, when the sentencing will proceed or a hearing on Northrup’s motions will be held.
03/31/09 – Sentencing Hearing Held
A hearing was held yesterday at which the prosecution sought to increase the previously agreed upon sentence of one year in jail, 10 years of probation and registration as a sex offender.
The hearing was closed to the public and according to the District Attorney, the hearing was concluded however the judge will issue a written decision.
The DA would not comment on his reasons for asking to have Becker’s sentence enhanced.
Becker remains free on $15,000 bail or $30,000 bond.
05/15/09 – Deal On Sentencing Revoked, Sentenced Enhanced
Robert R. Becker Jr. has been sentenced to two concurrent terms of four years in prison and 10 years’ post-release supervision after the prosecution sought and the judge agreed to enhanced punishment on the basis that Becker failed to comply with his plea agreement.
Delaware County District Attorney Richard Northrup said that he requested Becker’s sentence be toughened because Becker did not fully cooperate with the Probation Department during pre-sentence investigation.
05/22/09 – No Additional Jail Time
Robert Becker Jr. has seen his sentence finalized.
Judge Donald Cerio did not add any additional jail time to that imposed earlier this month.
The judge did however sentence Becker to 10 years’ probation on third-degree rape and a one-year conditional discharge each for endangering the welfare of a child and attempted sexual abuse.

YESSSSSSSS……………………. locked up. Crying as they pulled him out of his chair and put the cuffs on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Finally some satisfaction for the victims. One more sentencing and I hope the judge throws the book at him. Get it straight people……….. a 12 person jury indicted him not once but twice. The probation department recognized him for the lying dirtbag he is. The DA called him out and brought him back in front of the judge. The judge gave him FOUR years for one victim and FOUR years for a second victim. Unfortunatly he gets to serve them concurrently. However, FOUR years is a longggggggg time. Waiting on the court date for the sentencing of three more victims, count them……1…..2….3. Wonder what the punishment will be. I can not believe there are people that support such horrific acts, still swearing he is innocent. In his allacutions he speaks the truth himself and at the last court appearance the judge tells him and his supporters it is time to except responsibilty for his actions and recognize that he was at complete fault. His supporters still would prefer to believe that he has been wrongfully convicted for 3rd degree rape, endangering the wellfare of a child, 2nd degree attempted sexual abuse and two 1st degree sexual abuse charges. I feel sorry for them because of their lack of ability to comprehend what is so apparent to the rest of society. Their venomous words and actions towards the victims and their families show them for the ignorant pathetic people they really are.
How sad – you still think your husband is not guilty? After he stood up in court and gave allocution? He told the world that he did it. Sorry he’s a scumbag but maybe you should realize it.
Here’s what he said:
“She presented herself to me,” Becker said. “She came on to me. I should have known better.” (This is the girl he actually raped)
Then – Becker said he was substituting in the in-school suspension room when he was approached by one of the victims.
“She came to me in school and tried to kiss me,” Becker said. “I returned it.”
And finally, the third victim who WAS UNDER THE AGE OF 14:
“Becker said he couldn’t remember where the incident occurred, but said he had conversations with the girl and put his hand on her stomach in an attempt to touch her breast.”
Jessie, If you say all of this is nothing but lies, then why did he agree to a plea bargain? Was it because he is really guilty and wanted to keep his sorry butt out of prison? In my mind that is where he belongs. He has damaged many lives, not only the ones he did this to but his own kids (if he has any, which he shouldn’t) If it was my daughter that he did this to, you bet I wouldn’t have agreed to the one year in jail. How much time is he really going to serve, eight to ten months for good behavior? Just not enough in my book. The girls that he has done this to will never forget what was done to them. They will carry this with them for the rest of their life!! Ten years is a long time for probation and I am sure he will strike again and then what will happen? I think he should have gotten prison time and let the big boys show him what it was like!
I agree with guilty as charged, if you are the wife, SHAME ON YOU! and if you do have children i would also suggest you seek medical attention, rather than wasting valuable time on websites defending your sick, and with out a doubt, in his own words guilty husband. Also while your at it try the spell check button or maybe even kindergarten.

Of course I am guilty, just like those girls your husband admitted to and plead guilty to abusing. Everybody but him is guilty right? I am so done with this. Nothing left to be said, your husband said it all.

Jessie (the wife)are you accompaning your husbad to those meetings with the lawyer, you know, the one that we the tax payers are paying for. If so then maybe you might take a moment and view the evidence piled against him. Surely this 13 count indictment can not all be made of lies. The things written on this site came right from the local paper which came from a public release from law enforsement. Becarefull now with this next question………. are you calling the judge, local law enforsers, investigators, and the 12 person grand jury that indicted him liars? Is it written some where that wives must stand by there child molesting husbands. Open your eyes, and for gods sake, if you have a daughter seek medical attention for her. This man is a monster and I would dare say his SICK mind has no consience. Not even for that of his own child.
