Richard Priode, 44, a former band teacher at Sullivan Middle School in Rock Hill, South Carolina has reportedly been charged on allegations of taking indecent liberties with a student at South Mecklenburg High School in Charlotte, North Carolina where he taught previously.

Reportedly, Priode who turned himself in to police, is charged with indecent liberties with a student which is a felony.
It is alleged that Priode had a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old student at South Mecklenburg High School in 2007.
Priode reportedly left the employment of that school system in June, 2008.
Following his arrest this morning, Priode was being held in the Mecklenburg County Jail in lieu of $25,000 bond.
Reportedly, Priode has directed school bands in North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia prior to working at South Mecklenburg High School.
10/28/09 – Guilty Plea
Reportedly, Richard Priode has pleaded guilty to taking indecent liberties with a student.
Following his plea, Priode was reportedly sentenced to 6 to 8 months in jail with the sentenced suspended with 24 months supervised probation.
Priode will be required to enter a sex offender treatment process.

Richard should have had some jail time. He got a slap on the wist. By the way, he should never had served as choir director in a church. THAT should be on his record. He was a brillant musician and choir director who had a very dark side. How could he have messed up his life so badly. I feel so sorry for his wife and childred.
Everyone in NC needs to write their congressman to tighten NC laws against teachers. This guy should have served time in my opinion.
Beautiful. A suspended sentence for screwing around with a student. That’s fantastic. Obviously the slap-on-the-wrist tactics are working.
