Regis E. Kirby, 48, a teacher at Carrick High School in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania has been arrested and charged with sexually assaulting a 17-year-old male student.
It is alleged that several months ago the 17-year-old, his brother and cousin went to Kirby’s home where Kirby served them alcohol. It is also alleged that Kirby waited until the boys fell asleep and thereafter sexually assaulted the 17-year-old.
It is further alleged that Kirby whispered into the boy’s ear and threatened to kill him if he told anyone what happened.
The teen recently came forward with the allegations.
Kirby has been charged with involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, indecent assault, corruption of minors, making terroristic threats and furnishing alcohol to minors.
Following his arrest Kirby was held on $25,000 cash bond.
Kirby was nominated last year for an excellence in teaching award .
2/12/08 - Bound Over For Trial
Yesterday Regis Kirby was held over for trial on charges of terroristic threats, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, indecent assault, corruption of minors and furnishing alcohol to minors.
Kirby remains free on bond.

Since we seem to be so into opinions, how about this one. All of YOU are the deviates. The only opinion you should have is that for now he is innocent. These thoughts that you so willingly put out there only disgrace your name, showing what pitiable minds you have. Showboating pride over having such terrible thoughts. Does it make you feel better to point the finger now? All smiles and decency when your around him and then the accusation of a person you DON’T know can sway you in an instant. Forget the years that you were friends with this man and only thought good things about him; believe everything that strangers tell you. I find your comments and your way of thinking repulsive; they make you just as perverted as the people you write about.

Mr. Kirby wanted to go to the bathroom with my son so I hope he spends a long time in jail. All child molestors are good to kids,then take advantage.

YOU ALL KNOW IF THIS HAPPEN TO YOUR SON,BROTHER,OR SOMEONE CLOSE TO YOU I’M SURE YOU WOULD THINK DIFFERENT ABOUT KIRBY. HE WILL BE SORRY IF HE HAS TO GO TO JAIL. WHAT GOES AROUND ALWAYS COMES AROUND!!!!!!!
The truth will come out, And by some small chance he didn’t do it I’M sorry.
But I still belive he is GUILTY…..But i’m not his Judge.

I have been around since the beginning. My older sister was one of Kirby’s first students at Carrick… and quickly grew to love him. He is a kind and patient man that you could go to for anything. My father passed away last year after almost 2 years of fighting, and through every horrible moment Mr. Kirby was there to talk to, to lend a hand, or to even just listen. He has been at my house numerous times, and I cant even count how many times we stayed from right after school until 10/11 o’clock at night building sets and painting scenery together. He is a great man, and I have so much belief in his innocence that I am testifying at the trial! So Jeremy I only have one thing to say to you. STOP GIVING YOUR OPINION on something that you know NOTHING about… you didnt know him, you didnt know the people involved, and as far as I am concerned, I believe that you are only out to cause more pain and suffering so do us all a favor and SHUT UP! and for any of the rest of you who need reminding….
