(1/11/08 – Initial BBT Report)
Randal Albert Gomas, 45, a teacher at the James Irwin Charter School in Colorado Springs, Colorado has been arrested and booked on charges of sexual exploitation of a child, enticement of a child, attempted sexual assault on a child without force and Internet luring.
Gomas was arrested when he allegedly showed up to meet a 14-year-old girl who police say had engaged in sexually oriented online conversations with Gomas and who allegedly sent him explicit photographs of herself.
Gomas came to the attention of authorities when the girl’s mother contacted police after discovering her daughter’s online activities.
During the police investigation it was learned that one of the men with whom the girl allegedly communicated was local. A “sting” was set up in which the girl would meet the man for sex and Gomas was arrested when he allegedly showed up for that purpose.
Case investigators are contacting authorities in several states regarding other men that have allegedly engaged in illegal communications with the girl.

I was absolutely shocked when I heard about this. He was my biology teacher my sophomore year and I couldn’t believe this when I heard about it after I had already graduated. It made me sick to my stomach to know that one of my favorite teachers while I was there could have done something like this. I hope that he can change but at least he is removed from the school.

ugh i hate this guy, wel i didnt really know him, just saw him and heard my friends complaine about him, but it annoys me alot. i never went to james irwin middle or high school, and dont plan on going to the elementary school either, but i know people through playing basketball and running track in 06-07. this is sickening. a least he doesnt teach.

I am ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTED by what I have found out today.
MY teacher…MY TRUSTED teacher…is a SEX offender.
This shocks me.
This report has made me want to vomit.
I feel SO sick to my stomach.
I was in his science and P.E. classes.
This is…DISGUSTING!
The way he would look at the girls in my class…and how he giggled and chuckled at the screen of his computer…who knows what he was looking at?
Pornography?
Mr. Gomas DESERVES to stay in jail for what everyone at James Irwin has to go through.
Most of my friends are cautious whether to trust their teachers now.
Don’t get me wrong, James Irwin Charter School is an AMAZING school…but Mr. Gomas’ actions have changed a whole lot.
HOW DARE HE!!!

We are also in mr. gomas’s class and the fact that we sat across from him all of those times is really disturbing we also agree with alayna a. about when he recorded us in class who knows how many times he watched it ewww and also he could have locked us all in and done you know what we might not have been here today if he hadn’t been caught!!!! ewwww sry to everyone that goes to the school or knows gomas this should have never happened and hopefully won’t ever happen again!!!!

I agree with alot of you. and especialy the middle name thing. and as ‘E.’ has pointed out through email, every time we went over to his desk to ask a question, and we even glanced towards his computer, he changed screens, or if we saw the screen itself, itd always be on the attendance sheet. and how does the attendance sheet make you blush, smile, and laugh? thats my question. any way: i strongly beleive that there are no more teacehrs like Him in JIC-E/M/H-S and if there are, they should NOT be teaching at JI, NEVER! its all so wrong, sick, and disturbingly disgusting. he should not be alloud near any one at JI to teach, ever again. NEVER.
