(05/08/08 – Initial BBT Report)
Peter J. Lamana, 41, a former teacher at Boyertown High School in Boyertown, Pennsylvania has been found guilty of one count of sexual abuse of children.
The charge and conviction are the result of the jury finding that Lamana possessed videos of children engaged in sex acts.
The jury found Lamana not guilty of an identical count for still photos that were allegedly found in his computer.
Lamana was charged in 2005 as the result of the illicit images allegedly being found on his computer while it was at school and reportedly connected to the school network over which he allegedly downloaded the child pornography.
10/14/08 – Sentencing
Today Peter J. Lamana was sentenced to four to 23 months in Berks County Prison for having a pornographic video of children on his personal computer at school.
Lamana was also sentenced to five years probation.
Lamana’s attorney has indicated that the judgment and sentence may be appealed and the judge permitted Lamana to remain free on $50,000 bail pending an appeal.
Lamana apparently will not be required to register as a sex offender.

Ugh, this man was my math teacher in 2004. I was so creeped out by him, he was always putting his arm around us and whispering in our ears. It was so weird, but when he was arrested none of us were surprised. I’m glad he was convicted, although I don’t feel his punishment is quite hard enough.
