Bad Bad Teacher

Stephen Wayne Sudduth, 34, of Sealy, Texas, a former elementary school teacher in the Katy Independent School District in Katy, Texas has been indicted by an Austin County grand jury on 30 counts of possession of child pornography and 10 counts of promotion of child pornography.

Sudduth came to the attention of authorities by way of a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children in July. Sudduth was arrested the following day at a relative’s house.

At the time of his arrest, Sudduth was going to teach 5th graders at Tobias Elementary in Hays CISD. After the arrest, he reportedly resigned, for personal reasons.

According to the Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott’s Cyber Crimes Unit, investigators found more than 57,000 images and 1,000 videos during a forensic examination of Sudduth’s computers and external media devices.

Paul J. Schirmer, a 5th grade teacher at Middle Township Elementary School No. 2 in Middle Township, New Jersey has been arrested and charged with charged with two counts of sexual assault and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child.

It is alleged that on two separate occasions within the past six months that Schirmer inappropriately touched two students, with one alleged incident taking place at school.

Schirmer, who was suspended with pay, was being held on $50,000 bond following his arrest yesterday.

10/29/09 – Charges Dismissed

Middle Township Municipal Court Judge George Neidig in July dismissed the sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child case against Paul J. Schirmer, a fifth grade teacher at Middle Township Elementary School No. 2.

(Canada) Stephen Grant, 31, a teacher and also a former town councillor in Mirfield, who tricked boys into sending him indecent images of themselves by pretending to be a promiscuous teenage girl has been jailed for 18 months. Link

(U.K.) Marc Grim, a PE teacher as reportedly admitted in court to having an affair with a teenage pupil after romancing her after sports trips and arranging secret meetings during school holidays. Grim has stepped down from his job at the school, which cannot be named for legal reasons, and separated from his wife since details of the affair came to light, a court heard. Link
