Michael Cardoza, 59, a former math teacher at Pioneer Valley High School in Santa Maria, California has been found guilty in a jury trial on multiple felony and one misdemeanor charge in the molestation of a 16-year-old male student in 2006.

Cardoza was convicted on charges of oral copulation with a minor both with and without force or duress, documenting a sex act of a minor, molesting or annoying a child, and development or duplication of an image of a child engaged in a sexual conduct.
Cardoza faces up to 18 years at sentencing which is set for Jul 31st.
Cardoza is being held without bail pending sentencing.

08/05/08 - Sentencing
Today a judge sentenced Michael Cardoza to 16 years in prison.
He will be required to serve at least 85 percent of that term before being eligible for parole.
