Melissa Snow, 27, a teacher at Sheridan High School in Sheridan, Colorado has been arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a male student more than once off campus.
Snow was arrested on two counts of sexual assault on a child by a person in a position of trust, one with a pattern of behavior. The latter on allegations of sexual contact between Snow and the boy on more than one occasion.
Snow came to the attention of authorities when a school employee reported the allegation which resulted in the Sheridan and Denver Police Departments conducting a joint investigation.
Ultimately Sheridan Police turned the investigation over to their Denver counterparts as that is where the alleged incident are said to have happened, away from school and not related to a school activity or event.
Following her arrest Snow was released on $50,000 bond.
Snow has been placed on administrative leave by the school system.
11/17/08 – Mellissa Snow Formerly Formally Charged
Melissa Snow has been formerly formally charged with three counts of sexual assault on a child by one in a position of trust, with one of the three charges alleging a pattern of behavior.
Snow is out of jail on $50,000 bond and is set to appear in court on Nov. 19 to be advised of the charges.
08/05/09 – Guilty Plea and Sentencing
Melissa Snow, who previously pleaded guilty to attempted sexual assault on a child has been sentenced to 8 years of sex offender intensive supervision probation.
While on sex offender intensive-supervision probation Snow will have to maintain constant contact with the probation department and is prohibited from contact with anyone under 18-years-old unless approved by the probation department.
Additionally, Snow is required to maintain full-time employment and complete a victim empathy course.
Snow is required to register as a sex offender, reportedly for life.

“Innocent until proven guilty” has always been a lie. You are a pervert until you can prove you aren’t. The burden of proof is mainly on the accused. 99.9% of defendants either have to settle for a plea bargain or go to jail. The U.S. has more prisoners than any other country.
Most of these teachers, however, deserve to be in jail just for being so stupid. Teachers are not paid to be friends with students, nor to have ANY sort of relationship other than that of instructor to student, PERIOD.
Some football studs like em’ mature and healthy. Any high school guy knows that experience goes along way. More often, it is preferable to a high school drama queen that doesn’t know squat.

i had her as a teacher, she was a horrible teacher and we always said how she was too friendly to students, she had us on her myspace and certain students had her cell number and she was always too flirty with students. I hated her and this doesnt surprise me at all. She sucked as a teacher, and the kid (football player, wont give name though but i know) who did it should be ashamed, i know there are no hot or great looking girls at sheridan but comeon ms. snow isnt good looking either, plus shes a little heavy.
I can find no fault with Ms. Snow. Anyone can be tempted by natural urges. In my estimation only bad judgment led her to associate with a blabbermouth young stud. when she could pick an experienced old guy like me who could appreciate her position.
Obviously this will affect her career, for the rest of her life. I’m sure there will be times when she will need some open minded, considerate person to offer comfort, in which case, she would be welcome to contact this e-mail address. Thank you mac
