(12/24/08 – Initial BadBadTeacher.com Report)

Melissa Diana Koehn, 30, a teacher and coach at St. Croix Lutheran High School in West St. Paul, Minnesota has been charged with having sexual conduct with a 17-year-old female student.

Melissa Koehn

Melissa Koehn was charged by the Dakota County Attorney’s office Tuesday with three felony counts of fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct.

It is alleged that an Apple Valley police officer discovered Koehn and the teenage girl in a parked car in Apple Valley on Sunday, lying on top of each other and kissing in a fully-reclined seat.

Reportedly the officer notified the victim’s parents of the situation, then spoke with both Koehn and the girl.

It is alleged that they each said they started sexually touching each other in August 2008 and that there were a “handful” of sexual incidents at the girl’s home in Eagan.

Reportedly the girls’ parents allowed Koehn to stay overnight in the girl’s bedroom, but they did not know about the sexual relationship and they believed that Koehn was sleeping on the floor.

Koehn was booked into the county jail in Hastings on Sunday and released Tuesday afternoon on $10,000 bail.

Koehn’s next court appearance is scheduled for February 9th.

Reportedly Koehn was on unpaid leave this school year for professional development

She looks like she’s from WI… I bet the student was just as UGLY!

  2. Lame says:

The judge ordered a psychological evaluation of Koehn, but he really should have ordered a psych eval of the victim. She testified in favor of Koehn, saying that Koehn helped her, rather than hurt her.

  3. Brennus says:

Yesterday, Koehn was found guilty on 3 4th degree criminal sexual conduct charges. She’ll be sentenced February 5 byDakota County District Court Judge Robert King.

So what parent’s think it is cool for a 30 year old teacher to sleep over in their 17yo’s room??? Dummies!!!

    • Chad says:

I agree! What healthy parent would allow ANY adult to “sleep over” IN their child’s bedroom??? THAT factoid of information about this case is CREEPY!!

My thoughts about the case? There is NO debate: Koeh is a female member of a growing number of FEMALE child molestors in this country–and I can not defend or condone what she did; she’s guilty and deserves years in prison.

But I also find the “victim’s” parents suspect, too.

Seems to be the parents had a plan: Lure Koeh to their home–willing to expose their daughter to sexual activity–and later, extort Koeh in a desperate bid to snag some $$$$.

I feel local police should take a harder look into these dysfunctional parents!!!
