Matthew Edward McGuire, 29, of Alexandria, Virginia a teacher and coach at Chantilly High School in Chantilly, Virginia has been arrested in an internet sex sting.
McGuire is charged with attempted indecent liberties with a minor and use of a computer to solicit sex with a minor.
McGuire’s arrest is the result of an on-line sting conducted by an Arlington, Virginia detective assigned to the regional Internet Crimes Against Children task force.
1/17/08 - Many New Details Released
Many new details of the online “sting” operation conducted against Matthew McGuire between March and August 2007 have been published in a news report by Bonnie Hobbs and published by “The Connection Newspapers”. The link for this report is provided below.
1/30/08 - Bail Denied
Citing the difficulty in regulating McGuire’s access to the Internet, a judge on Tuesday denied McGuire’s request for bail.
McGuire’s next court date is February 20.
