Matthew Hensley, 25, of Valparaiso, Indiana and a former coach at Andrean High School in Merrillville and St. Paul Elementary School in Valparaiso has been sentenced to 125 months in federal prison.

Hensley was convicted in July by a federal jury of attempting to solicit sex from minors using the Internet.
Hensley was arrested as he was entering a Valparaiso park where he had arranged a sexual rendezvous with an undercover agent posing as a 13-year-old girl. He was charged in August 2006 and was one of more than two dozen cases uncovered by a sex predator sting operation run by federal, state, county and local police agencies.
Hensley’s attorney said Hensley had engaged in a harmless exercise in sexual fantasy. He went on to say that no one other than Hensley himself was harmed.
The prosecutor and judge took a differing point of view on both Hensley and his sentence.
