Mark Bevilacqua, 58, a retired shop teacher, who prior to retirement taught at Marlboro High School in Marlboro, New York, has pled guilty to a felony charge for the possession of child pornography.
Bevilacqua’s arrest was the result of a joint investigation by Marlborough town police and New York State Police. The investigation began in the fall of 2006 when Bevilacqua took his computer to a repair shop.
Reportedly an off-duty police officer working at the computer repair shop discovered child pornography on Bevilacqua’s computer during the course of trying to resolve the problem with the computer. The officer called Marlboro Police upon discovery of the child pornography, a search warrant was issued and the computer subsequently seized from Bevilacqua’s residence.
The prosecution is recommending that Bevilacqua be sentenced to five years probation and be required to register as a sex offender.
Bevilacqua is free on bond.

It has been 9 mos. and still Mr. Beveilacqua is not registered as an offender. ??? Please someone look into this one.
It has been six months since Mr. Bevilacqua was “sentenced to five years probation and be required to register as a sex offender.” To date he is not. Why???
He was my middle school teacher. He used to go on our annual field trip with us to a water park.. and brought an under water camera with him. I went through drawers in our classroom one day and found pictures of girls in my school in their bikinis. He’s so creepy. I’m glad they finally found out that he was a weirdo.
It seems to me that they are going a little easy on the guy. They should through the book at him. Espescially since he was working with children.
