Marc Norman Greenberg, 32, girls basketball coach at Chaminade-Julienne High School, a Catholic high school in Dayton, Ohio and a practicing attorney in Kettering, Ohio has been arrested on allegations that he engaged in graphic sexual conversations and sent obscene images to a New York law enforcement officer who posed as an underage girl.
On Monday, federal agents arrested Greenberg at his Kettering law office and charged him with 12 counts of transferring obscene images to a minor.
A press release from the FBI and U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Souther District of Ohio states that the complaint charging Greenberg alleges that during the period February through April of 2009, Greenberg used computers at his home and office to engage in graphic sexual conversations and to transmit obscene images including videos of a male masturbating. These images were sent to individuals who Greenberg believed were underage females.
It is alleged that beginning in late January 2009 a New York law enforcement officer, posing as an underage female, began electronic communication with an individual utilizing the screen names bballguy5555@aol.com and aig2010@aol.com.
It is further alleged that these conversations became increasingly sexually explicit and included requests by the subject to the underage female to send sexually explicit images of herself and to meet the subject in New York to engage in sexual acts. It is also alleged that eventually the subject sent streaming video of himself masturbating.
The affidavit further alleges that the subject, using the same screen names, also engaged in similar conversations with a person who he believed was an underage daughter of a military service member but who was, in fact, a Naval Criminal Investigative Service Investigator.
Requests for subscriber information from AOL revealed that the screen names were registered to IP addresses at Greenberg’s office in Kettering, Ohio.
Greenberg has not been accused of any misconduct involving any student at the school.
If convicted, Greenberg faces a maximum punishment of 10 years in prison on each of the 12 counts.
Greenberg’s arrest has left students, players and parents at the school in shock and disbelief as they reportedly held a prayer service in the chapel at the school.
Since his Monday arrest, Greenberg has been held without bail until his detention hearing at 11 a.m. this morning.
07/27/09 – Trial Delayed
The trial of Marc Greenberg, scheduled to start today, has been rescheduled for November 9th.
Greenberg’s attorneys requested the delay because government officials had not yet fully analyzed the contents of the computer seized from Greenberg’s home.
Greenberg is facing 12 federal obscenity counts, each of which carries a penalty of up to 10 years in prison if convicted.
This is a sad, sick individual. But he’ll get his. You know what inmates do to child molesters. I have a feeling Marc Norman Greenburg is gonna get it in the can.
He sure did leave a paper trail straight to his house. “the subject sent streaming video of himself masturbating.” it would be kinda of hard to defend those actions.
Former Client, sue him in a civil court to get what you paid him back.
Yeah, I hired him for my bankruptcy. He botched my case so bad, that after he was arrested I nearly couldn’t find new counsel. He is sick, and hopefully didn’t have any real victims of his pedophilia. However, he left a whole community (the kids at the school and his clients) as victims of his illness.
This individual was my cross examing attorney for a few years. He accused me of being a child abuser,drug abuser, and a horrible parent to my mental ill child. These attorneys are out for a pay check not justice or what is right!!!! I feel awful for all his victims!!! He deserves to be punished to the fullest!
