Loren L. Leoni, 24, an English teacher and freshman girls volleyball coach at Belvidere High School in Belvidere, Illinois has been arrested on allegations of criminal sexual assault and aggravated criminal sexual abuse of a 15-year-old male student.
It is alleged that Leoni was having a sexual relationship for several months with the student. The illicit activities are alleged to have taken place in Leoni’s apartment.
The warrant issued for Leoni’s arrest carried with it a $50,000 bond requirement.
Initially police could not locate Leoni to make the arrest, however she turned herself in at the Winnebago County Jail on Sunday.
Leoni was subsequently released on bond and will return to court on Friday.
2/28/08 - Court Appearance
Loren Leoni made a court appearance today at which she pleaded not guilty.
Her next court date is set for March 20th.
