(06/06/08 – Initial BBT Report)
Lief Arnesen Albaugh, 27, a band teacher at Foshay Learning Center in Los Angeles, California has been arrested and charged with felony possession of child pornography.
LAPD officers served a search warrant at Albaugh’s Los Angeles home Wednesday and seized his personal laptop computer, which allegedly contained images of young boys and girls engaged in sexual conduct.
Police also seized his computer at school.
Albaugh is free on $20,000 bail.
06/27/08 – Court Appearance and Another Charge
On Thursday Lief Albaugh made a court appearance and entered a not guilty plea on the initial charge of possessing child pornography.
A second count of possessing child pornography was filed against Albaugh. He has not entered a plea on that charge.
Albaugh remains free on $20,000 bond.
09/17/08 – Lief Albaugh Ordered To Stand Trial
Lief Albaugh has been ordered to stand trial on two felony counts of possession of material depicting a minor engaging in sexual conduct.
Albaugh’s arraignment is set for October 1st.
Albaugh is one of three current or former Foshay staff members to be charged with sex-related felonies in recent months.
11/04/09 – Guilty Plea and Sentencing
Court records indicate that on 01/23/09, in an apparent plea deal with prosecutors, Lief Albaugh pleaded guilty to one count of possession of child pornography.
As a result of his plea, Albaugh was sentenced to 1 day in the county jail, 3 years probation and ordered to perform 75 hours of community service.

Although we have heard from multiple individuals that Albaugh was required to register as a sex offender, we can find no record of Lief Albaugh being so registered anywhere in the United States and therefore discount such reports.
Obtaining any information on this case, let alone links to news reports of the guilty plea, has been impossible in spite of months of searching. Therefore I decided to go with the best information we have available and that information is presented above.
If anyone has additional or conflicting information on this case, a case which appears to have been swept under the rug in a sweetheart plea deal, please share it with us.

Are you nuts? The school isn’t being attacked, the pervert teachers are. Maybe the school should just be more careful when hiring people. The students deserve much better than what they are getting.
I UNDERSTAND THAT WHAT ALBAUGH AND ROONEY DID IS UNJUSTIFIABLE. HOWEVER, I THINK IT’S ODD TO SEE SO MANY PEOPLE BEING PERSECUTED AT FOSHAY LEARNING CENTER. I BELIEVE SOMEONE IS TRYING TO ATTACK AND BRING DOWN THE SCHOOL. THERE ARE MANY PEOPLE OUT THERE DOING THE SAME THING IN OTHER SCHOOLS, BUT WHERE ARE THEY IN THE NEWS? WHY DOES IT HAVE TO BE THE SCHOOL THAT IS IN A LEAST FAVORABLE AREA? WHY DOES LAUSD ATTACK THE SCHOOL NOW WHEN THEY KNEW THESE PROBLEMS EXISTED EARLIER?
