Layne Schroeder, 32, a former para-professional and coach at Cheney High School in Cheney, Kansas has been arrested on allegations of having a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old female student.
Reportedly, Schroeder is charged with unlawful sexual relations and contributing to a child’s misconduct.
It is alleged that the sexual contact was consensual in nature and that it occurred away from the school during June, 2008.
The allegations against Schroeder reportedly came to the attention of school officials at the beginning of the current school year. A school spokesperson said that an investigation was begun when the initial allegations surfaced and that the alleged victim recanted her allegations two days after making a statement to police.
Reportedly, Schroeder resigned from the school.

Layne Schroeder didn’t show up for his scheduled first appearance Thursday afternoon.
The judge issued a bench warrant for Schroeder’s arrest.

First off, charges have already been dropped in the first county they filed in. 2nd, its the alcoholic abusive father that is to blame. He’ll do anything to keep Layne and his family in trouble, because a certain service was called on the family. He and his WIFE, no EX are very happy, and having to go thru all this BS has just brought them closer. 3rd, on the night in question, when all this supposedly happened, Layne was out of town at a softball tournament!

Mr. Schroeder worked in the school my daughter goes to. I find what he did not only VERY disterbing and sick, but also very very Wrong. Wrott behind bars Schroeder, You deserve the worst sentence you can get. I hope your happy, your children and (EX) wife deserve much better. He is sick, and Im glad my now 17 year old daughter didnt have contact with you. unlike some of her friends that had the shamful pleasure of having you as a choach/teacher.
