Lamar Lewis

Lamar Lewis, 39, assistant principal at South Iredell High School in Troutman, North Carolina has been arrested on charges of sex offense with a student and indecent liberties with a student.

It is alleged that Lewis performed a sex act in front of a 16-year-old female student inside the school and that school security cameras recorded video which at least in part led to the arrest of Lewis.

Lewis came to the attention of authorities when the girl came forward reporting the alleged incident to a teacher on March 10.

On March 11, Lewis was placed on administrative leave with pay by Iredell-Statesville Schools pending the outcome of an internal investigation and school officials indicate he will not return to the school this school year.

Following his arrest Lewis was freed on $15,000 secured bond.

The Charlotte Observer in a report on Lewis and his arrest lists his name as Velvin Lamar Lewis.

    I honestly think that he is a rapist and should go to jail and pay the crime!

    Mr. Lewis is a good man and has never struck me as the type to do something like this. If people would just listen and not give him obscene word deleted by site admin) everyone would get along. I don’t believe that the alleged crime happened and I stand behind that 100%. When he was at LNHS he was cool to me. We would shake hands and talk anytime we seen one another. Nobody liked him because he followed the handbook. It was his obscene word deleted by site admin) job honestly. I think this girl is a flat out liar and she has made this whole thing up.

    Honestly, the way he would always try to accuse a student of doing things its only just that when he “allegedly” did something vulgar that he would have to pay for it…
