(04/15/09 – Initial BadBadTeacher.com Report)
Kasey E. Johnes, 37, a teacher at Edwardsville High School in Edwardsville, Illinois has been arrested on allegations of a sexual relationship with a then 17-year-old male student.

Johnes was charged Wednesday with one count each of criminal sexual assault and aggravated criminal sexual abuse.
It is alleged that Johnes had a five-months-long sexual relationship with the student and that the alleged relationship ended in February. It is further alleged that the sexual encounters took place at Johnes’ residence.
Reportedly, the boy was 17 at the time but is now 18 and a senior at the school.
Johnes came to the attention of authorities when a school administrator in response to rumors notified the school resource officer of possible illegal conduct by an EHS teacher involving a student and an investigation was begun.
Allegedly both Johnes and the boy have admitted to the relationship and sexual encounters.
According to a police spokesperson, the school system placed Johnes on unpaid leave on Wednesday.
Following her arrest, Johnes was reportedly being held in the Madison County Jail in Edwardsville in lieu of $100,000 bail.
04/16/09 – Johnes Bail Reduced
Kasey Johnes appeared Thursday afternoon before a judge via video feed from the Madison County Jail and was told by the judge that her bail was $100,000 and that it would take 10% of that amount to gain her release.
Later the judge had a change of heart and Johnes was released from the Madison County Jail after her husband posted $3,000 in cash for bond, implying the judge reduced her bond from $100,000 to $30,000.
On Wednesday, Johnes was reportedly placed on unpaid leave by the school system.
07/21/09 – Guilty Plea and Sentencing
Kasey Johnes has, in a plea deal with the prosecution, pleaded guilty to aggravated criminal sexual abuse. In exchange the prosecution dismissed a more serious charge of aggravated criminal sexual assault.
Johnes was sentenced to two years of probation and has to register as a sex offender.
In addition, Johnes was fined $500, ordered to continue receiving counseling and is prohibited from having contact with the victim.

Why would a “teacher” have ANYTHING to do with a boy who’s 20 years younger than she is? He is NOT a victim, but she is definitely NOT innocent. Only a whore would do what she did! And only a peeve wouldn’t come onto an older woman who is willing to s__k his c__k to the bristles.
On the other hand, this old Expletive deleted by site moderator is scary. Chances are she’d be bird-doggin that boy to death. Such a woman as this fits the description of compulsive-obsessive and being in a position of authority, she’s probably passively aggressive as well. And that can be dangerous.
To “justsayno”, please do not keep boring us with your mini-lectures on statutory rape. Both Helen & Junior Soprano II have a good point. Unless a 17 year old boy is mentally retarded, such a boy CANNOT be raped, statutorily or otherwise! At age 16 that boy could get a driver license and be held COMPLETELY responsible for his actions while behind the wheel. Many 14 year old boys who have committed murder have been tried as adults and given life sentences. And the moment a boy’s 18 he can be given a gun and sent to a place like Afghanistan to fight, and perhaps, die whether he’s fighting or not.
I have no doubts that this homely looking teacher is guilty. I just don’t believe that a 17 year-old boy who walks around with a hard-on most of the time, looking for women willing to put out so that he can get his rocks off and become a big shot to his friends, can much be called a “victim.”

@ justsayno:
Please do not take me for an idiot. i do know the meaning of condone and excuse thank you very much. i have never said that what mrs. johnes did was right and nor did i agree with it. what she did was wrong i have said that before but you are making it seem as if she was the only party involved. In the state of IL you are legal at 17 therefore the boy and the sexual relations with him would not have been charged or even looked at if Johnes didnt teach at the school he was attending. So for her to get charged and for nothing to happen to him IS REDICULOUS! This “boy” is not stupid, he knew exactly what he was doing and so did she. Neither party was right in doing so, but for one to get let off with out a scratch while the other pays the consequence for both parties actions, is flat out stupid and anyone who doesnt think so is completely rediculous. Do you seriously think this boy has learned his lesson? I dont think so because no punishment ( other than what im sure his parents have enforced) has been given to him. He got no punishment from school, he was still allowed to graduate, and nothing from the police was enforced either.
My opinions on this matter have stayed the same from my previous entry, and will stay the same. I know this woman, she is not a bad person. She made a mistake ( a very stupid mistake at that) but a mistake all the same and she should be punished…but so should the other party involved. You say it doesnt matter if the boy knew what he was doing because it was “statutory rape.” UM CLEARLY IF THAT WAS THE CASE SHE WOULD HAVE BEEN CHARGED WITH STATUTORY RAPE, AND SHE WASNT!!!!! like i said, when HE WAS LEGAL!!! the only reason she got into trouble is because she taught at the same friggin school! why arent ppl understanding that??
And for the record, you have absolutely no idea how high ” my standards” are , and quite honestly they are none of your damn business.
You have completely been an ass to several others who have done nothing but put in their two cents on the matter. You have as well tried to talk down to me, but that wont happen because i defend myself and the statements i make on this blog. Just because ppl have other opinions than what you believe to be right or true, does not give you the authority to be an (Expletive deleted by site moderator) and treat them like (Expletive deleted by site moderator). You keep telling ppl to improve and pick up more “vocabulary,” and “raise standards”. Heres a tip for you, learn to have common courtesy and be an adult when others have different opinions. if you cant handle that then i have two word for you….DONT BLOG!!!
@ hellen: you are right and i agree with you the “boy” knew what he was doing because it happened numerous times over the span of 5 months. He is not innocent, or a victim and needs to be held accountable for his actions just like she does.
BOTTOM LINE:
PPL are stupid and just plain ignorant if they think the “boy” ( who was legally A MAN) involved shouldnt have been punished as well. PERIOD!!!

The boy who I do know very well is the victim. It’s not his fault the teacher came on to him like that, he did what any other high school student would do. On to the Johnes I know her husband very well as he was my football coach in middle school, he has a lot of anger issues and believe it or not I saw him about 2 weeks ago and he still had his ring on his finger! That was amazing to me but someone said that he can’t raise the kids by himself so that is one of the reason they are staying together.
