Joseph E. Okoh, 40, a seventh and eighth grade math teacher at Meridian Charter School in Washington D.C. has been denied bail in Louisa County, Virginia where he is being held on allegations of soliciting sex from a minor over the internet. .

Okoh, who is also the Howard University Soccer Coach, was arrested when he allegedly used the Internet to solicit a person he thought was a 13-year-old girl for sexual purposes.
Okoh was arrested on January 25th by Louisa County Sheriff’s deputies in an internet sting conducted by the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. Okoh was arrested when he allegedly showed up at a pre-determined meeting place in Louisa, Virginia to meet the girl.
This is the second time that Okoh has sought and been denied bond, the first attempt was on February 1st.
Okoh has been suspended by Howard University.
