Joseph Julius Curie, 51, a math teacher at Vista Del Lago High School in Moreno Valley, California has been arrested on suspicion of misdemeanor child annoyance for reportedly passing inappropriate notes to a 15-year-old female student at summer school.
The student informed her parents of receiving “notes” from Curie and reportedly indicated that Curie was harassing her. The girls parents called police and investigators say that the notes “could be construed as romantically inclined”.
Curie was arrested and subsequently released at the Moreno Valley police station with his case turned over to the Riverside County District Attorney’s Office, which will determine if charges should be filed.
Curie has been quoted in news media reports as saying that police exaggerated the case and that the notes were harmless and that he frequently shares notes of encouragement with his students to cheer them up or commend their work in class.
Media reports indicate that Curie said that on Monday out of frustration, he wrote an unsigned note that said, “Will you go out with me?” and left it on the table next to girl and that she picked it up and took it the wrong way.
Reportedly Curie has resigned his position with the school system.

He is a good guy. Have to admit akward at times, but is a good person and would do anything to get sexually involved with any student.
