Bad Bad Teacher

Mr. Dick was a good teacher and he’s a good man who made some very bad decisions to get him where he is now. I had him in middle school and kept in touch with him after. He was never inappropriate towards me or anyone I know. He has problems that need to be addressed. He needs help, not to be hung by people who never knew him or people who just assume the worst when they hear what the parents have to say. I refuse to let him be made into a “predator” by complete strangers. He was never like that and he wouldn’t hurt anyone. The kid had to have been reciprocating whatever Dick was saying, or else he wouldn’t have talked to him. The texts were disturbing to the parents because their kid is gay and wants older men. Put the kid in counseling and get Dick help. He doesn’t deserve to spend his life in jail and if you knew him before all this happened, you would agree.

The parent refers to charges of “perverted and unnatural sex acts with a minor” but after doing a case search the charge is not listed as with a minor, its listed as “perverted and unnatural sex acts”.. That charge along with the Sodomy charges are charges based off of Marylands laws that discriminate against homosexuals. If you are gay person living in maryland, if you admit to having sex, even oral sex, with a partner of the same sex you can be charged with both “preverted and unnatural sex acts” and “Sodomy – general” Hopefully those ridiculous charges will get dropped.
As for the sexual offense of the third degree charges, well, if they are warranted , then they are warranted. only time will tell.

Jonathan Dick did indeed find my son on Facebook and committed some of his solicitation crimes on Facebook before convincing my son to take the conversions “offline”. For all of you that have such faith in how wonderful the man is, you might want to ask yourself why he has been indicted on 18 more counts (adding to the first six) including charges that have been described as “preverted and unnatural sex acts with a minor”.

My son knew that having a sexual relationship with an adult was wrong and wanted no such thing which is why my son told Jon Dick as much and told him he didn’t want to talk to him anymore. Jon Dick kept approaching my son and kept trying to convince my son that having a sexual relationship together was be okay. Jon Dick told my son the it was normal and society just didn’t understand what being gay was all about. Homosexuality has nothing to do with this issue. When a 43 year old seeks or has sex with children, he or she is sick – whether his/her friends like to acknowledge that or not. Jon Dick solicited my son for sex multiple times even when my son said that it was not okay because my son was just a kid. That isn’t a relationship in any sense. That is a monster hunting his prey.

Hats off to law enforcement for finding so much evidence that this sicko has now been indicted on a total of 24 counts of exploiting children.

Apparently there are lots of teens/friends of Mr. Dick who frequent gay porn sites and assume that’s where this “bad bad teacher” met this child. I don’t believe that’s been established. Did it ever occur to you that he could have posed as a teen on My Space, Facebook or other social media site? ‘Guess everyone will know the facts soon enough, when the case goes to trial.
